Try one. They're good for burly boys.

Not sure if any companies rent them around here, but there was a shop my good friend worked at in auburn he always let me try out a bunch of different bikes when they got them in.

that one's a bit higher priced and only 12", but you like it pretty well?

I've got a couple smaller trees, thought bigger than 12" I'd like to drop in the backyard and clean up so I may go with that worx one.

I'm also a fan of electric alternatives; not good enough to completely replace a gas powered, but good enough for the smaller jobs! I like the idea of electric, because there are some pretty harsh rules for cutting with a gas powered saw within a national forest. Pretty tough regulations on cutting within a national forest to begin with, but you could at least cut a tree laid down across a trail with an electric one; I hear not so much with a gas powered, fallen or not.

a corded one wouldn't be for the trails simply because the truck can't run it, just for home use.

the one Tyler linked wouldn't be corded though. I should've worded my previous quote better. I'm also a fan of battery operated alternatives, maybe not electric per say

yeah but it's also 200$ for that one with the battery, vs. 89$ for the larger one with a cord for me to use at home lol

I got this one in a package deal I bought just to get the extra battery. It really surprised me. As long as you keep the chain sharp and don't pinch the blade it will cut anything. I would say it would fell any tree you are comfortable cutting yourself.

that's my thoughts on the 89$ one too, it'll do everything that I'm wanting. will it stand up to a nice gas one? heck no...will it drop the smaller trees and help me clear all the limbs I could ever want to in the back yard, sure.

but those batteries can power your next investments ;) But if it works for you, then thats that and nothing else matters lol.

My dad recently bought a battery powered leaf blower and that thing blows harder than Wes's comebacks! All these battery powered tools are pretty nice to have around the house, especially when you have limited storage for them.
