I have zero compassion for anyone who would hurt someone else for no good reason. If they don't value the lives of others then they don't deserve the gift they've been given.

personal opinion though, eye for an eye you know.

Someone that thinks they have the right to hurt anyone or take their things should be publicly beaten

Its preparing for the fear of what maybe. If I am putting myself in a place or situation where I am concerned I too will be armed but not to live my day to day life.

I think I've said this here before, but bring back corporal punishment, like back in the old days, in front of the town square. Folks would think twice before they go hurt, rob or steal from innocent people.

I try and avoid places and situations that put me and my family at risk. Sometimes you can avoid trouble, but trouble may come to you. Take Mark's dad on the motorcycle for instance. Minding your own damn business and out of nowhere, you are forced to defend yourself.

I agree, but sometimes the parents aren't at fault.

How many of us know very well hard working parents, great parents, but then the kid goes off and does drugs and or other questionable acts.

Parent's can only teach a kid, it's up to the kid to practice that knowledge.

Amen! I had a friend growing up through HS, his mom was a teacher at Emma Sansom, his dad was a city councilman in Gadsden, well-to-do family you could say. He got strung out on coke and him and his girlfriend robbed that gas station on the back side of Nocalulla Falls and shot her in the head, killing her for less than $200. He's been on death row since 1997 and all his appeals have been exhausted, so he's going to fry any day now. Parents can only prepare their kids to leave the next. Once they do leave the next, it's up to them to make the right decisions in life, based on their upbringing.

You just never know. People are crazy nowadays. Hell, churches are places of worship and folks are getting shot up in churches, not to mention movie theaters, football games and any other public place where you think nothing like that could ever happen.

Agreed but in the 90s I worked just off Finley Avenue on 16th street and I would see small kids around 5 or 6 years old walking the sidewalk at 2:00am by themselves.

As much as I hate to admit it, you have to fight fire with fire sometimes. We don't always ask to be put in the situations we get into sometimes.

Agreed, my original point was I would rather be shot than to feel the need to daily arm myself out of fear. I will not project that fear onto my family or scare kids a Walmart because I believe my world is that bad. That is just me and I fully support every ones right to do so, I just don't like the way it makes me and others feel.

I agree and I respect everyone's viewpoint, although it may not be the same as mine. We try and not to shelter our kids from the bad in the world out there, that would be doing them a disservice. They all understand the difference between war and peace, good and evil, etc. Teach em to be their best, contribute to society, help the less fortunate yada yada yada, but we also let them know that it ain't always peaches and cream out there and they understand that there ARE folks out there that have nothing to lose and would kill you for the shoes on your feet. Knowing is half the battle sometimes.

Looks sharp! I would throw some bed bars on there so you can remove them when you want or a bed rack. I went the bed rack rout cause i wanted a half rack so my tent wouldn't be dragging so much and if i ever want to remove it its pretty easy.
