    Yeah, it's been a thing forever. I just don't get why, it looks so stupid. There is one exception IMO: A jeep with a suitably large tire sticking out like that, isn't so bad.

    I also get baffled at trucks with like 1" of lift doing the same thing, it looks like a skateboard.

    I actually have a jeep now. Imagine that.
    I actually hate when jeeps run 10" wide rims... When the tire/wheel ratio is good then it actually looks good. I always have liked when lifted vehicles have 1-2" tire sticking out past the fenders. Looks tough.

    Inner seal is leaking so I am trying to replace it. Need a bigger pry bar! Lol. Lights will come off soon.

    did you try the hi-lift handle.........the should also be a 3 foot long pry bar in the tool box.

    I have a big enough pry bar but its bent from trying to take out the cv shaft. Idk why buts its a PITA to get out. I know there is a snap ring inside holding it in place but haven't been able to get it out. Gonna try in the morning while its 30 degrees outside. :D

    Couldn't agree better with ya! Hands might be numb enough that I won't feel it and when they warm up is when the pain will hit!

    or a chisel and hammer....what dad and i used. have to be careful though. once there is a big enough gap to fit the chisel so you can hammer the cv out go that route....works just fine and doesn't mess anything up.

    Usually a good snapping motion with the pry bar does it. Simply prying on the inner joints doesn't usually work. I have to get the pry bar in there and give it several solid jerks to get the CV shaft snap ring to release.

    Got it. Chisel and a hammer. Spent $20 on a 7 piece set but only needed one. I hate it when there isn't one chisel to buy around my parts of town.

    That part is supposed to be pressed into the CV axle. I don't know which direction because I never really had to look. Can you look underneath at the other side and see if it gives you an indication? I would think just by instinct that the CV shaft would come in from the top as that picture is angled.

    Are you sure? The only reason I ask is because I have read threads and seen pics and the say to be care putting the shaft back in so you don't damage the seal itself. Is it suppose to be pressed into the diff instead? There seems to not be a write up about this! Actually the rubber was still on the differential. It separated from the metal piece in the picture
