Went up to my buddies land this weekend, did some wheeling and found a small tree with my passenger door. Anyone know a good body shop around Florence/Muscle Shoals? Probably gonna need a new door so a shop that uses factor parts would be best.

I cannot recommend a body shop, because my whole truck looks like your door, but I do recommend Sliders! Would have saved you from that damage.

Yeah, sliders are my next project. Wish I would have had the money to get them already.

Honestly I would by the parts do it yourself then take it to get painted. Save a few hundred dollars for them to buy the parts and install and then Paint.... That few. Hundred could get you a pair of sliders or the supplies to make them.

Matt, Sorry for the delay getting back. I am pretty sure about how it goes, but like I said, I am not 100%. I suggest looking at the other side to see if you could get a better idea.

Yep, thinking about buying a new door and getting it painted at the same time as the rocker panel. I DEFINITELY don't feel like paying for a new rocker panel.

I went to Hoover Toyota and they gave me a print out of the whole front diff. It shows that the passenger side goes on a different way than the driver side. Idk how though.

Hmmm. Strange on that one Matt. I can't offer much more on advice at this point without having all of that in front of me to look at.

The gold piece is just the dust shield that sits on the CV shaft itself. Ive run spares in the past that didnt have them and never had any issues. But I broke more cv's than i care to admit so they never really had a chance anyways!!

As far as the inner (diff) seal goes, it gets driven flush with the diff carrier. I always just used a 2x4 or something similar and gently tapped them in. No leaks, and ensures you dont drive it in to far. I dont think there is a "stop" or seating surface for the seals, so you CAN drive them in too far.

I sold the 89 and am driving my brothers 1st gen. He is gatortaco92
EDIT: Actually, the 89 had 6 bolts to remove it from the diff. Idk if they had diff seals or not because there was a thin metal plate on the end of the cv shaft and in the differential. Never had it long enough to find out.
