I’m getting the fully built clams but don’t know to select solid spacer or the crush sleeve. I know what a crush sleeve is but never heard of the solid spacer. Also don’t know if I need a cv bushing or not.

There’s YouTube videos on it but also requires specialty tools I don’t see the need to purchase for a one time thing.

I shipped my front diff to them and had it back in about a week.

Basically once the solid spacer is set with the correct shims it can't change. With a crush sleeve if your seal leaks there's a good chance changing it can over crush the spacer. All it does is set the amount of pre load on the pinion bearings. Some people suggest one on the rear in the event something slams the pinion flange. But like jb said ecgs is great at explaining everything.

I re geared my rear, I already had all the tools required and could make whatever I didn't. It took over a week setting everything up 100 times and then waiting on proper shims etc to be shipped and then setting everything again. I really only did it for the learning experience, next time I'll probably pay someone.

Yeah definitely not taking my truck apart and letting it sit on jack stands for over a week in the garage. Core return fee is not an issue to pay up front and start tear down the day before parts are scheduled to be delivered. May start taking it apart two days prior to because it may be a bit more difficult if I’m by myself in the garage again but anything’s doable.

As for building my own diffs, maybe one day for learning experience but definitely not this round.

I’m trying to convert my tans to the 4x4 version. Basically just need someone who is knowledgeable and would be able to swap out all the parts. From what I’ve read it’s all bolt up.

As long as the output shaft is the same lenght for 2wd and 4wd trans all you should have to do is take the tail housing off and bolt on the tcase. But most likly thats not gunna be the case.
