I've been checking my u-bolt nuts every so often since my suspension install. They say to check em after every first couple of hundred miles. I've checked, but they're all still tight.

Haven’t even glanced at mine since install. They’re still connected I’m sure.

Well, I'm sure there's a reason they say to check after a few hundred miles. I did just to be on the safe side, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!

it’s the angle of the photo. I took the picture from in front of the wheel without looking at it.

my u bolts were torqued at install and 500 miles after. That is definitely not the issue

Be careful not to pull the bolts through the rails, it's not hard to do because that will be the new weak point

Yeah, that angle looks like your inner u-bolt could be pushed in towards the spring perch a little bit more. Odd that your leaf kicked out like that, maybe @Crikeymike will chime in soon.

He has? I hope my leaf doesn't rotate out like that, first I've seen with the Dobinson's pack.

I've been looking at Archive Garage's Stealth u-bolt flip kit. Looks like they made the flip plate specifically with holes closer together, so the u bolts will fit tight on both sides of the leaf pack, so this kinda thing doesn't happen. May go this route when I get around to purchasing.

Shortly after i installed them 2 years ago. Then i forgot about it. Never had a problem with them. They just sit crocked.

You run a u bolt flip kit? I haven't flipped mine yet, but the u bolts that came with my Dob springs sit nice and tight against both sides of the leaf pack, perfect fit actually. Some flip kits I've seen have a gap on each side of the leaf leaf pack, due to the holes being spaced further apart on the flip plate. I imagine if there's a gap, then there's more room for a leaf to rotate out of position.

I’ve got the archive flip kit awesome made product fit and finish, I did wheelers superbumps before they offered the new foam bumps. Did them when I did my dobinson springs, I’m prolly doing hammer hangers next product of his.

Good to hear! When you get a chance, can you snap a pic from the the back of the truck, showing how tight the u-bolts sit against the leaf pack? Too big of a gap would bother my OCD. I want em tight! I'll probably run the Durobumps or the Timbren Active Offroad bumps.

That leaf is in a retainer at the front of the pack, so it probably can’t shift much more. But I don’t know... we will see what Mike’s thoughts are.

gonna hammer it back in tonight
