Phones went off here and I walked out on the front porch to see what the weather was doing. The wind picked up fast and I heard the freight train sound. Things started blowing sideways. Got everyone in the hallway and it was over in about a min or so. Blew two big trees down in the yard and destroyed my sons swing set in the back yard. Threw a big branch off the tree down on the Taco. Taco has a few dents in the hood and a small crease in the passenger fender. It must have been coming down because the neighborhood behind me was toast. They said it was a EF2 tornado. We just got power back about 130 this afternoon, it's been out since 5am tuesday. Thankful no one around here got hurt. It blew a neighbors canopy about 300 yards to the end of the subdivision. Another neighbors above ground pool was wadded into a ball.

I'm actually in Smiths Station, AL

Looking for a farely new tsb 4-leaf pack by the end of summer. 3 leaf pack on my 2006 is shot, planning on making suspension upgrades at the end of summer.

Let me know if you've got one or know someone who does.

Just buy some OME leaf packs and throw away the 1" block? By the time you buy a 4-pack to get by with and then upgrade at the end of the summer, you'll double your money.

The 4-pack is the upgrade, I'm looking for some by the end of the summer to install with new front suspension.

What he is saying is, don't buy the 4-pack, get some dakars or something similar that will 1) provide the lift and 2) support more weight than the 4-pack.

Oh, and get rid of the block. Plus, it will be cheaper to get the dakars instead of buying a used 4-pack, then having to replace it soon as well

I appreciate the suggestions. I don't think I'm looking to go as extreme an option as the dakars, as well as how much lift they provide.

This is just a replacement for the spacer lift on it now. I only need it to last 3-4 more years until I sell the truck and get in a 4wd. I want to keep the leveled look and have it ride decent until then, farm roads is the only offroad it sees.

My plan is 5100s in the front and rear with the front set at 1.75 on stock coils. I want the back even with/a little higher than the front. I want to ditch the block for sure. I'm just not sure an AAL is a viable option at this point. Currently when I put any significant amount of weight in the bed (firewood/equipment) with the 3-leaf pack I'm riding on bump stops.

You can pull a leaf from the Dakars - I did, got about 1.75". It was perfect.

    Nice, thanks for the input.

Starting to have slow leaks in some of my tires, so I'm going to get new ones in the next couple of weeks instead of the end of summer.

Looking at Nitto Terra Grapplers in 265/70/17. I think they'll be a good mix of road manners and decent offroad tread. Anyone have experience on the best tire prices in the Birmingham area? I'm going to start calling for quotes today

My dad has the Terra Grapplers on his Tacoma. They are a nice looking and performing all terrain. The only time I've seen them fail was last night on a muddy slick hill that my friend was stuck on about halfway up (and sideways) They just wouldnt hook up for nothing, but they were also on a Jeep so that could have been part of it :D

If I didnt wheel a lot then I'd have the Terra Grapplers or the Falken Wildpeak.. You will be very satisfied with the Nittos

If you plan to wheel, avoid the terra grapplers. Go with the trail grapplers for wheeling. I had the terra grapplers because they were cheap, and they sucked.

haha, yea, they suck as in stuck on flat ground with all 4 wheels spinning and locked in the rear suck. Ask gatortaco92 about that. I hooked up to him and tugged ever so gently. I have dunlops and didn't get stuck in that spot. That's how much they suck!

I love the look of trail grapplers but every pavement pounding princess Jeep or Chevy I know of runs them so I avoid them like the plaque. Lol

Hey everyone just moved to northern Alabama, and wanted to see if there were any active members. Really looking for an excuse to get out and cruise and meet some new folk.
