Still depends on the offroading you plan to do. You can do a lot with an AT tire.

until it gets wet. ST Maxx are one of the most aggressive AT tires on the market and they are pretty terrible when the trails get wet.

Hey guys. I have some new SOS bolt-on 3rd gen DCSB sliders with kickout for sale. Comes with hardware and everything. Asking 635 for them. I’m in Pell city. Perfect for someone local who wants to save $129 in shipping

My KO2s did just fine in wet and mud and etc. but when it came to doing much aggressive rock crawling they lacked, but that’s primarily because they were load E and really really hard. Even low psi they barely folded on rocks. That’s why I’m saying depends on what kind of off-roading. Not everyone needs a mud tire or a knobby tire or a soft tire or a hard tire etc etc..

Yes it will fit ACLB 3rd gens. Not sure about seconds but we can try to see. Frames are pretty much the same.

Now, my first set of sliders I bought, wouldn't fit my truck, because they were built for a DCSB 2nd gen. The rear cab mount on my 3rd gen was slightly forward enough to where the sliders wouldn't fit. @ovrlndkull do you know if his sliders will fit my 2nd gen or 3rd gen access cabs?

Ok hell must have froze over I'm getting all my alerts today this is very scary.

They will only fit your 3rd gen. The 3rd gen frame is different enough that the leg position and frame plates are totally different.

most all tires that are used in the rocks are E rated.

My current ones are not, they are D.

I wasn’t saying load E is not for rocks. But a load E all terrain with extremely hard compound like a KO2 is not for rocks.

As much as you love them, we won’t get into any of the details of your current tires.

I hear ya on the overall point, a sticky is better than DOT tires. But you can’t drive those to the trail.

Toyo MTs are super popular on rigs out west and they have some of the hardest rubber compound on the darn planet. The stronger sidewall is definitely a good thing to have on the sharper rocks in the SE as well.

Kinda sorta more depends on the actual tire construction there is a lot of science and engineering behind it. There is no simple answer.

KO2s are hard to begin with even the lower load ranges they are a tire that touts 60k mile warranty. You can get softer compound E load range tires that do really well at conforming around things, my duratracs and STT Maxx are 2 good examples.

As far as E load range for the rocks well that's about half right my new M/T could of come in either D or E I chose D for weight. E just gets more weight carrying capabilities and would have a little different tread compound for the heavier trucks. But both of them have the same sidewall construction and tread separator at the sidewall lugs to allow conformity.

Also no longer does c mean there are actually 6 ply, D-8ply and E- 10. With the newer technology from the 90s they are that many ply rated and not actually have that many. Back in the day more belts and thicker rubber and what not were needed to hold the weight and higher tire pressures now they are able to do that with better materials and compounds without all the added weight and materials to accomplish it.

The rocks out west are very different than the ones here.

are you trying to make some kind of point?

:D:thumbsup: Toyo and Nitto are sister companies so they share a lot of stuff even though Toyo is a bit lighter than the Nittos the rubber compounds and construction are very similar.
