Yeah moreso coming from the front end. Really sounds distinct to the driver side front.

You said it occurred in the Tacoma after a wheeling trip?

that's when it first occurred, but it was like days after.

on rubicon at that spot Trey got a photo (see below) when I was backing off of it, man it jerked my whole front end to the right real hard and slammed. we think just into the steering stops but not sure. it took the steering wheel out of my hand. just wasn't sure if it was somehow related to that.

I don’t get notifications for any thread on Tacoma world anymore for some reason. Used to I always knew but now I go a day or two without ever opening this site. Tornado landed about 40 min away in carbon hill and did some hefty damage. A guy that works for me isn’t here today because of the tornado destroying his home and his son and his sons wife were hurt. Broken collar bone for the guy and bumps bruises and some stitches for the wife. His nephew was found pinned under a mobile home that had flipped over. Crazy stuff.

Def sounds like it might be an alignment issue also then. Hows the alignment seem?

I had a similar issue after installing my lift. Wes and I had to re-torque everything after I drove it about 100 miles and then i got it re-aligned.

Alright here’s the 4runner ball joints. Brakes and rotors are good. Cvs look good and everything rotates and spins fine. Tie rods look fine, and obviously the steering rack is brand new. Sway bar bushings look like shit but that doesn’t affect the issue I’m having.

With the tires off the ground, neither driver nor passenger side tire “wiggled” when I grabbed them and moved em. With a crowbar under the Lca I got 0 movement/play out of the lower ball joints but here’s photos.

Drove the 4runner around the neighborhood and couldn’t get anything to happen to video, since it occurs at higher speeds normally.

Also checked out the Tacoma and couldn’t get the clunk to repeat in the driveway. I’ll drive it to work tomorrow and see if I can get video. Here’s photos of the ball joints on it.
