    I have many Plano cases to keep my cold weather/hunting gear/ammo stored. They do become brittle after a few years and break and chip. They are cheap enough to always pick up another one though.

    aluminum is just much more expensive, for the setup I'm wanting. and the plastic like the roam or cooler style is extremely durable and I'd bet will last nearly as long as aluminum.

    I want something to mount/lockdown in the bed of the truck that could stay permanently, but that I could remove pretty easily if I need the bed space back. Can't attach to bedrails, and would like it to sit down between the wheel wells real nice like. don't want to have plastic storage boxes that I have to take out and fill up my already full garage with even more...

    yeah if you find a UWS chest style let me know, that's pretty ideal....but I can't pay a new price for that....and most people have broken a latch/lock or banged the shit up out of it...

    i wasn't sure, because I forgot my measurement between the wheel wells haha!

    the only thing I didn't like about the roam is I could only strap it down, not mount it to the bed really.

    it wasn't a HEY GUYS LOOK I'M BUYING A ROAM NOM NOM IT'S THE BEST THING EVER

    it was just a "have you guys seen these?" sort of mention...
