    Coming soon
Hey guys, figuring out rock sliders and whether to have them powder coated for me or just paint them myself. Anyone done it? How much primer and paint did it take? How long did it take? I found I can get a set with the filler plates all powder coated for an extra $125 and wasn't sure if it is worth since they will get scratched anyways.

I rattle canned mine. I couldn't justify the cost of PC knowing I would scratch them. I used Rustoleum and then used some bed liner just cause :D

I had mine coated with a slip resistant powder coating so they are a little more safe to stand on. I just rattle can the scratches.

I had mine Powder Coated but over the last several trips I have a lot of chips. So looks like rattle can going forward.

$125 seems reasonable but if you plan to use them, they will get scratched. I just did this(painted mine). Prep for paint by removing any oil/etc(I had mine sand blasted/primed by a friend), then 2 coats of Rustoleum truck bed, lightly sanded(to make them easier to clean) and the painted with a few coats of semi-gloss. I used less than 2 cans of each.

Agreed. In 2014 I did a solo trip from Albertville to Kerrville(hour W of San Antonio) in a day to visit my parents. 14 full hours of driving.

    Sup yall!

I rattle canned mine. For the most part, they are holding up well, but do have gouges on the bottom and chips all over. I'll touch em up soon though.
