You know I dilly dally in and out of this thread depending on my work schedule so maybe you were clear, and I didn't see that part.

    What else could you use?

a larger truck would be nice, like a Tundra. because it would satisfy all of my bike hauling/camping needs better than the Tacoma does. would prefer a 1st gen Tundra. edit: it would also be better suited when time comes for us to move houses than the Tacoma.

something with more interior space than the Tacoma, like say an FJ Cruiser, would be more useful as well.

I think my girlfriend if married wants to go to Australia. Not to sit by the beach of course, but to see all of the animals and such.

I think that'd be pretty cool, but I think it's like a 24 hour flight one way.

I'd probably still own 4x4, simply because I don't see the point in not owning 4x4. A couple mpg is menial to me.

Definitely 1st Gen Tundra over current gen Tundra. I know a tundra is bigger, but not by much than the 2nd and 3rd gen Tacomas?

Also a 4runner or FJ and a trailer would probably be better

the Tundra would have a larger bed, and the interior space I believe on the 1st gens is larger than a Tacoma....the backseat definitely feels that way. I added an edit "for moving purposes". I also would never want a long bed Tacoma as they look just way out of proportion to me.

I agree on the trail limos.

I also think the Mega Cab tundras look off, the bed on those is probably smaller than our tacomas. I'm sure the backseat passengers feel great though.

no doubt. the mega cab is just wrong looking lol. especially the models that the cabs were like 15ft with a 5ft bed. like wtf.

something like this would be sweet, without lame Method wheels lol

5k should be enough to cover just about anything that happens at my house that i cant claim insurance.

Weve always lived check to check. Its just how it goes. Im getting to a place very soon where i wont have to any longer. Another 1.5 years at work and ill be topped out. Then i wont need to live check to check any more. Ill have more than enough. But you also have to remember i have 3 kids. Being single is cheap and easy, a family of 5 is not. Just to go to BWW last night and eat was $95.

For me to have a years worth of liquid would not be possible, i made 80k last year and will make more this year.

Any deals that pop up need to pop up when im looking for that item or i just buy new. Just how it works, like soon i will be looking for a 4x8 enclosed v nose trailer. Once i have the money in hand ill look for a week, if one dosnt present itself ill fo over to the factory in georgia and buy one. But for the most part, if a deal pops up and we want to get it, generaly(until recently due to covid) my check would cover it and we would just move the bills to the next check.

Plus I don't like the access cab or whatever tundra because it looks odd too, that door handle is a big no.

That first gen Tundra is nice, but something like that probably costs as much as the Tacoma?

I keep insurance on the Samurai as @tweakit88 said I drive it a lot on the road. If the offroad trip is within 75 miles I drive it but over that I trailer it. Most of the trucks that are trailered are not street legal so they don't insure them.

for a "lower mileage" Tundra like that, meaning I'd like around 150k mileage....one can be had like 12-15k or so? just hard to find...most are 225k+ miles and about 7-10k.

still believe I can sell the Tacoma for around 20k if I tried, but I haven't tried.

The only way to do it! The kids won't stay kids forever, you gotta enjoy them when they're still little brats! It's tough when you gotta pay football, basketball and band fees, uniforms, instruments, cleats, jerseys, etc. Money for the weekend for the 16 year old now, but he's about to go get a job! lol Plus, it's always $100+ when we go out to eat. The boys are eating us out of house and home right now.

But considering my family, my employment, my trucks, my guns, knives, fishing stuff, I am very blessed in my life right now.

Yea it adds up real quick. Im so thankful for the life i have. I think about it atleast 3 times a week and how alot of others are not as fortunate. Just to be able to be part of this forum and own a Tacoma is a blessing.
