    I’m no diff expert, but pretty sure everything spins in there in 2wd, it just doesn’t have power to it. In simple terms.

    even the drive shaft spins in 2wd, it's just not catching any gears inside the transfer case.

    When I rotate the front diff with the cv installed at home the flange doesn’t rotate either. That’s why I though it was just the spider gears.
