Any AR-10 weights too much as far as I am concerned. How about this. 4lbs 13 ounces before scope. $1800 or about. Sub MOA. Ask me how I know. Going to Wyoming and hope to take an elk with mine.

Really love those but they are heavy. Lot of respect for WWII guys that lugged them all through Europe and Asia.

Yeah, but the sound of the magazine hitting the ground after 10 rounds, was so satisfying. The original reason they took it out of service, the ejection of the magazine, gave the soldier's position away. Will shoot 1" groups if you do your part, kicks like a mule, tough as nails, and just a pleasure to shoot.

wouldn’t that be the one time that the term “clip” is actually appropriate.

On your last post though, I have an H&K marked super 90 and it’s a sweet gun. Perfect setup for 2 or 3 gun competitions.

It's a magazine. A clip holds paper together. :D You learn real quick in the military, that it's not a clip. lol Either way, everyone understands what it is. Jeannie and I shot some 3-gun, years ago at one of Frank Proctor's class, and we used Mossberg 930s. He's local and he's a very good instructor. Bring a thousand rounds with you, for shooting sessions with him.

who knew. Wasn’t trying to prove a point, just a general question. I don’t know that much about firearm history. Was always my understanding that M1s were one of the few clip fed guns.

I just recently got into competition shooting and have yet to shoot 3 gun. Started with steel challenge and moving into practical tactical 2-gun soon.

Oh i know, gangstas on the street will call it a clip and those who know better, will call it a magazine. Shooting is a beneficial skill to have for sure. Go take a class and you'll learn drills that will make you 10x better, just picking up little tricks here and there to get fast, and accurate. I can't recommend Frank Proctor enough. He could kill 6 people dead, in no seconds flat!

so the en bloc clip that feeds an M1 is still referred to as a magazine?

I definitely want to take classes. My dad and I have talked about going to thunder ranch for years.

No. A magazine is detachable. A stripper clip holds bullets together so they can be loaded into a built in magazine like a Garand or SKS.

Yeah, I guess you could call it a clip. Or magazine if you want. Just don't get your thumb caught in the action.

I switched to 6.5 Creedmore last year and I’m really happy with it. And it is about the only ammo you can find right now.
Springfield is now making an M1A chambered in 6.5 too.

Let me know when you go to a competition. I’ll go with you.

5100s all the way around with 885 OME springs up front and AAL in the rear
With the ammo shortage while Obama was still around, I started reloading. Got an RCBS set up and dies for 5.56 and .308. I just keep components on hand and when I have a few hours will just crank out a few hundred rounds.

Bring it on! I’m hoping to shoot the steel challenge in September. Might even register for the state championship competition to get my but kicked.

My buddy hunts with an Axis in .30-06. I love my lever guns for hunting, iron sights and all.
