    darn HF welders.

I built Matt’s entire trailer with my 140 amp welder and it was drug to Colorado and back and held a family of 5 for many nights.

Takes more practice on differing metals, but it all comes down to puddle manipulation with what you are trying to do. And that’s not something that’s easily done with flux core wire.

Yea i want to get the titanium 125 flux. Its a DC welder and from the reviews it rocks. At only $199 before sale price i think ill give it a shot. Dont have the cash to spend now though.

I just need like 3 or 4 small clean welds and shifter will be perfect and i can work on sealing floor and getting console back in.[IMG]
Welder i have vs one i want lol

Spend the extra money and get the titanium 140. You will be glad you did when you want to start MIG welding 3/16”. They go on sale for $349 every once in a while.

If you can bring the shifter to me at some point I can weld it.

not a bad deal. I’d imagine your uncle has 220v power in his shop, if so a 170 or 190 is all you would ever realistically need and you can run it there. Duty cycle would be the only issue.

The name on the welder was 140, I thought it was a 140 amp. It burns into the milder steel fine but the hardened steel shifter it wont, even turned all the way up. He needs a bigger welder and probably needs to preheat it.

@Peligro see how I used burns into this time.

gotcha. I get what you are saying now. I haven’t welded much hardened steel. Preheating and slowing the motion of the bead on the shifter then whipping the puddle to to the mild steel will likely get penetration on it though. Just gotta make sure to bevel both sides.

She likes the hardened steel shifter, hah

Well it's 930am...what better time to hit casino floor and breath second hand smoke through a F'ing mask that does nothing! I cough worse having to wear the stupid thing while gambling. But at least I came to my room with more money than I started with!

I think my 210 would burn into it but his welder would just puddle up on top.

check HFQDB. I wouldn’t mind having the titanium either. It’s a clean little thing. It’s been on sale before I think as low as $160 for BF or around the holidays.
