DRY WEATHER CONTINUES: Another chilly morning across Alabama… here are some temperatures just before sunrise…

Today will be sunny with a high in the low 70s; the average high for Birmingham on November 4 is 70. We stay dry tomorrow and Friday with a good supply of sunshine; the high tomorrow will be back in the low 70s, followed by mid 70s Friday.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: We are forecasting partly sunny weather both Saturday and Sunday with highs between 73 and 76 degrees for most communities; lows will be in the 50s Saturday morning, and low 60s early Sunday.

NEXT WEEK: Confidence is not especially high since a tropical system could be in the Gulf of Mexico, but at this point it looks like showers will return Tuesday night and Wednesday, followed by drier air Thursday and Friday. TROPICS: Eta is now a tropical storm over Central America; NHC expects the core to survive, emerging into the Caribbean Friday, then moving over Cuba, and to a point near Key West Sunday night.



From there, long range global model guidance suggests Eta will move into the Gulf of Mexico. Where it winds up from there is still very much up in the air; way too early to know, but we will be keeping a close eye on the system.



The rest of the Atlantic basin is quiet; hurricane season ends at the end of the month.

ON THIS DATE IN 1935: Called the Yankee Hurricane, this Category 2 storm affected the Bahamas and South Florida. This storm remains the only tropical cyclone to hit Miami from the Northeast in November.

ON THIS DATE IN 1959: A rare, F0 tornado caused minor damage near Cape St. Elias Light Station on Kayak Island, Alaska.

Morning guys, I realized this morning that my home working setup is getting out of control.

 

Just got back from my meeting with the Chief. I accepted the position and start Dec 7. Man I'm super stoked, I can't wait to tell these dummies at work I'm leaving, haha

I'd suggest waiting until as late as possible to tell them though. I've made the mistake of giving too much notice before

 

Thanks, I'm waiting last minute to tell them. They just laid off some people last week. i can see them cutting me on the spot if I say something right now. I'll probably wait till Dec

 

Yeah, good idea.

I've done the polite thing in the past and given notice, then there was always a "what are you still doing here" kind of vibe for those 2 weeks or more. hahha And I've seen others give 2 weeks notice then get asked not to stay and not get the 2 weeks pay either, so that kind of backfired on them.

With regular work and working on all this weather related damage I'm swamped.
Plus my thanksgiving break is occupied in Gatlinburg.

 

Quick question, If i wire 12 gauge all the way to the outlet but the fuse tap portion has 16guage wire would it be fine for 3-7 amp draw max? The fuse tap only came in 16 gauge. Its only a small portion of wire.

It would be easier for me to wire it to the in cab fuse panel that way as opposed to trying to feed a wire through the firewall and running it to the fuse block....

 

Never mind just going to run it to fuse block.
