Best receivers on the market change my mind. Although I really want one of these or any of them made by falkor.

Nice. I'm 5 more working days away before I put notice in. I'm giving them 1 week instead of 2 weeks. I have a feeling that they are just gonna tell me to walk when I turn it in.

A lot of companies make great lowers. Uppers too at that. I’d like a Noveske or a Spikes tactical to start another build, but parts are getting more scarce as each day goes by.

    Morning everybody

    From AlabamaWX

30s, 40s, and 50s: This morning is a good example of why it is best to use a range of temperatures when forecasting lows on a clear, calm morning across Alabama. Almost a 20 degree spread across the state (31 in Gadsden, 50 in Birmingham just before sunrise). Variations are due to wind, elevation, and UHI (the Urban Heat Island effect in Birmingham).

Sunny weather continues across Alabama today and tomorrow with a slow warming trend; the high today will be in the mid 60s, then close to 70 tomorrow.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: Saturday will be another sunny day with a high in the low 70s. Moisture levels begin to creep up Sunday, but for now the risk of a shower looks very low. Otherwise, we expect a partly sunny sky Sunday with a high in the mid 70s.

THANKSGIVING WEEK: For now the chance of rain looks very low Monday and Tuesday, but models are beginning to agree on the potential for a fairly dynamic storm system to form over the Central U.S. that would bring rain and thunderstorms to Alabama on Wednesday. The synoptic scale pattern would suggest potential for strong storms (this is the core of the late fall severe weather season in Alabama), but the amount of instability remains in question. Just too early to know if severe storms will be an issue, but clearly something to watch as we get closer. Dry air returns for Thanksgiving Day and “Black Friday” with highs in the 60s. See the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.

FOOTBALL WEATHER: For the high school playoff games tomorrow night, the sky will be clear with temperatures falling through the 50s. Saturday, Alabama hosts Kentucky (3:00p CT kickoff at Bryant Denny Stadium)… the sky will be sunny with temperatures in the low 70s at kickoff, falling back into the 60s during the second half.

Auburn hosts Tennessee Saturday evening (6:00p kickoff at Jordan Hare Stadium)… a great night for football with a clear sky. Temperatures will fall from the low 60s at kickoff, into the upper 50s by the final whistle.

TROPICS: For the first time since late October we have no named tropical systems in the Atlantic basin. NHC is watching two areas for development; one in the Southwest Caribbean, and another one northeast of the Bahamas. Both have a low chance of development for now, and the Gulf of Mexico remains very quiet.

ON THIS DATE IN 1930: An estimated F4 tornado struck the town of Bethany, Oklahoma. Between 9:30 am and 9:58 am CST, it moved north-northeast from 3 miles west of the Oklahoma City limits, and hit the eastern part of Bethany. About 110 homes and 700 other buildings, or about a fourth of the town, were damaged or destroyed. Near the end of the damage path, 3.5 miles northeast of Wiley Post Airfield, the tornado hit the Camel Creek School. Buildings blew apart just as the students were falling to the floor and looking for shelter, and five students and a teacher were killed. A total of 23 people were killed and another 150 injured, with 77 being seriously injured.

No, it’s original. Also I think the battery is original too haha. It’s a tru start battery and I’m not showing any Toyota paperwork saying it’s been replaced. I never replaced it. I put a new one in this morning, fired right up. I’ll keep an eye on the volts.

My alternator crapped out last year around 12X,XXX miles I believe it was. I bought my Tacoma new in 2010 and I've replaced the battery 3 times. One of those batteries was faulty and I was given a new one for free from Advance Auto.

Have you noticed an electrical burning smell by any chance? Out of the blue my engine bay smelled like burnt electronics. After I noticed it I replaced my alternator and all has been well.

13.8 idling, 14-14.2 driving on old battery. Haven’t driven long enough to say on new one.

any way to see how old this battery is? Surely I didn’t just get 11 years out of it haha250A404F-87A3-43A6-B555-68D2EB917AF9.jpg4C365B8A-42A4-48A6-8461-9616F477504E.jpg

I’m right at 150k. No burning, nothing strange other than slower to start. Ran all my goodies and lights wide up and nothing dimmed or anything with the truck running.

Didn’t see one. I’ve heard that the dealership doesn’t put dates on them. Not sure if that’s just on new vehicles or all batteries? That could be my answer if so

There is always a date code on them somewhere. I'm not sure how to decifer the stamping on it. The round dots on the top sticker are supposed to be used as installation dates. You pick out the month and the #s to make the yr it was installed obviously they didn't do that. An actual OE installed from the factory battery doesn't have that sticker.

Pretty sure that was the culprit. What I would have done before going to an alternator.

Cooler weather will usually bring the bad batteries out. They’ll work fine then a cooler morning comes and bam. Dead af.

That’s what leads me to believe it may indeed be the original battery. No evidence it had been changed on any paperwork I’ve seen. My dad borrowed it for two years but neither one has replaced the battery since it was bought new haha

Edit: oh I see what you’re saying now. That top sticker with the dots. Alright so somebody replaced it but didn’t mark the sticker. That wouldn’t surprise me given our local yota dealership.

Damn perform service message popped up on my new truck last week for the EGR cleaning. Jokers want $1400 to clean it. Cost is $75 in parts to do it myself. Need to sell the yota and delete that bs off there. Supposed to be cleaned every 67,500 miles.
