ONE MORE DRY DAY: There is a dense fog advisory across the southern half of Alabama today, where visibilities are very restricted. This fog should dissipate later this morning; otherwise today will be partly to mostly sunny with a high in the 67-72 degree range this afternoon. The average high for Birmingham on December 11 is 57. Clouds will increase tonight.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: A cold front will bring a batch of showers to the state tomorrow; looks like the best chance of rain will come during the morning and early afternoon hours. No risk of severe storms, and probably little thunder. Rain amounts should under a quarter of an inch, and the day certainly won’t be a “wash-out”. The sky will be mostly cloudy and the high will be in the mid 60s. Showers could linger over South Alabama Saturday night as the front stalls out there.

Much of Sunday looks dry for North/Central Alabama, although showers remain possible over the southern counties of the state. Then, a wave of low pressure will develop on the front, and will bring widespread rain statewide Sunday night into early Monday morning. Rain amounts of around one inch are likely; not expecting any thunder for most of the state. The high Sunday will be in the 60s.

NEXT WEEK: The sky becomes partly sunny Monday afternoon, and the day will be cooler with a high in the low to mid 50s. Most of Tuesday will be dry, but another disturbance will bring some risk of scattered light rain to the northern third of the state Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. Wednesday will be colder; some places across North Alabama will hold in the 40s all day. Then, Thursday and Friday will be dry with a mostly sunny sky along with a high in the 50s. Next chance of rain most likely will come at some point that following weekend (December 19-20)… See the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.

FOOTBALL WEATHER: Alabama will take on Arkansas in Fayetteville tomorrow (11:00a CT kickoff)… the weather looks dry but cold. The sky will be cloudy with temperatures rising from 39 degrees at kickoff, into the low 40s during the second half. UAB plays Rice in Houston tomorrow (11:00a CT kickoff)… the sky will be sunny with temperatures rising from 66 at kickoff, to near 70 by the second half. Then, tomorrow evening, Auburn travels to Starkville to taken on Mississippi State (6:30p CT kickoff). The sky will be mostly fair with temperatures falling the low 50s at kickoff, into the mid 40s by the final whistle.

ON THIS DATE IN 1961: It was middle day of a three day severe weather event for the Deep South, which included 13 tornadoes. On December 11, 1961 an F3 tornado tore through Jacksonville, in Calhoun County, causing signifiant damage to the campus of Jacksonville State University. The tornado was down for about three miles; there were no fatalities.

When your alignment changes .7 degrees on caster due to movement in the ball, I think you get a pass on the squeak like a duck. That is reserved for all the uniball folks.

I aired my tires up to 45 (50 max) and this trip to TN was a lot smoother, less noisy, and more consistent steering feel. I think I'll be doing that for now on like you and reserve the 28-30 for my normal putt putting around town.

Better do the chalk test to see if you are riding on just the middle of the tire.

I just did it for the hwy ride. Brian said his quiets down a good amount and feels better so I gave it a shot too. Around town I go for cushy and smooth. I really don't care about the chalk test my tires are getting rotated every couple months and alignment done idk how many times a year. So far about 10k on them with quite a bit of offroad use and wearing evenly and smooth no feathering or chopping.

Anyone that’s been to gatlinburg/pigeon forge area, besides roaring fork nature trail, are there any decent places to ride at here? If not, got any suggestions for tomorrow? Wife and I are here for a few days just us for our birthday. Mines today and here was the 9th.

Anyway just looking for enjoyable suggestions. We’re going to ride the mountain coaster tomorrow early on after breakfast and then ride the lift chairs up over gatlinburg to the glass bridge. Don’t want to see the aquarium, been there and it’s good enough for me to see once and never again. They have the pink Jeep tours but don’t really want to do that I don’t think. Doesn’t seem like it would be much fun since it’s something I can easily do in my own truck. We went to alam cave yesterday and considering climbing top of chimney tops while we’re here if time permits. Other than that going to Dixie stampede now and going to eat at apple barn tomorrow(my all time favorite by far). Going to stop at comedy barn and hopefully get in to Hatfield and McCoy’s dinner show before we head home also.

Anyway if anyone has some good suggestions from prior experience I’d appreciate the input.

You have a Joann’s fabrics there? They have a premium felt in store that’s 60” wide. That’s the stuff I use. I used to buy tons of that stuff for costumes I made. Find a coupon on their website and you can get it local.

Yes sir, its going under the hood.
Its 8 x 8, it will hold around 2 1/2 gallons, that will run it a few times down the 1/8th mile track.
