I didn't have to remove the tie rod, just separated the spindle and UCA and swapped it out.

 

It's been awhile since I did mine with a sway bar, but from what I remember it made it easy easier. Though 1st gen.

 

Releasing the UCA from the spindle should be all you have to do. You can sneak them out between the tie road and lower.

Would love to do something like that! Unfortunately, seems like it would cost a small fortune when you add up time off work, gas and whatever else may happen.

 

Thanks for the info. Looks like fun. Free event, except my truck is my DD and stock for the most part. Also time off and college to pay for, I would be out. Maybe someday before I get too old.
