Good, been staying steady with work, and trying my best to help prepare my son for his big adventure of college and being on his own.

Fall camping trip sounds like a good idea. If I'm not going to VA to see Nick, I'd been down for it.

A late year Jeep Cherokee XJ. By now they are super cheap and they are one of the easiest to repair and the 4.0 is a solid solid engine.

Oh I love me some XJ.

My vote would be 4Runner. I can't even think of another SUV to compare with those.

Having owned 4 4Runners from 4 generations they are damn dependable and I would never say not to get one, but that kinda drive your gas mileage will be better in the Edge or some other smaller SUV. However, if mpg is not a concern, then I don't see a question here bud!:rofl:Good luck with whatever you choose and best of luck to your son in college!

Markeeta has been shut down for a while now. I wanna say 2 years. Some people got into it back there and someone supposedly killed a dude back there. Ever since they've blocked off the entrances and if you get caught back there they'll fine you and someone said they'll impound your vehicle or whatever. There is still a way for certain that I know of but not worth the risk. Plenty of other places near there.

Found these on CL the other day. I was thinking about selling my allpro rack and going with a shell but I doubt I could find anyone to buy my rack down here in the south.

Anyone ever road the trails at Little River Canyon-Backcountry? There website says theres 23 miles of trails broke up into 11 different trails. Says there are streams and creeks to cross. Have some pretty good pictures of some scenic views. Looks like a nice place to visit. I work weird schedules, been at work all weekend, but I might ride over tomorrow and try it out.

I've been several times. It's pretty fun and the trails are super easy, I don't think i've ever used 4wd out there. I think you can get a map of the entire trail system from the visitors center for free as well. The stream crossing is easy and shallow, the creek is a decent size but shouldn't pose any problems as long as it isn't flooded (judging by the lack of rain you'll be fine). One of the trails has a pretty popular swimming hole on it, several locals in and out so watch your speed on the trails as they aren't one way trails.
