Paul (lifesaflaw123) got a toolbox from me. It looks great on there and he'll definitely get more use out of it than I will.

I actually have a jeep now. Imagine that.
hopefully I will. I gotta figure out a way to mount my cb antenna and bike mount now...I don't wanna drill into the box to do it. I think im gonna scoot the box back about an inch and fab up some mounts at the machine shop here.

Yeah, I didn't want to drill into the toolbox at all, so it was good that I got rid of it. I've got my CB and Firestik set up in the bed now. Next is lights, grille, and a Bestop Supertop. I'm thinking about taking my bumper and fenders to a shop to get Line-X'd.

Hey man.. What did you have in mind for some bike mounts?? I have 2 bike mounts on the way the hold the bikes by the front fork and i was going to drill into my box but if i ever got rid of it, it would be harder to sell.

Maybe if i just made like a hook style that clipped to the inside of my box and had the bike mount mounted to it. Then from the inside of the box use like a clamp style screw to clamp it down to prevent it from sliding...

I think they lied about the wheel...it drives better on the interstate.. I only caught slight vibes at about 50mph.

ehh, not sure if I can get the mental picture here. Before, I used that 1" aluminum stock to mount a fork mount on the rails. Its still sitting in my truck. To be honest, I may sandblast a square area on the top of the tool box and epoxy a mount for my bike. thats if i get lazy though. I do want to fab up a mount that attaches to the rails right behind the tool box that way the tool box doesn't sit too far forward. maybe if it works well enough, i can sell some.

Now i'm confused as to what you're doing... Geeezzz!!! Are you talking to mount the tool box or what are you mounting and why wouldn't you want your tool box as close to the cab as possible?

Keg, are you going to be able to come up to the meet this time?

I need some bike mounts for my truck before the end of June.

I'm talking about a slim bike mount right behind the tool box. I'll model it up tomorrow during class and post a picture if I have time/remember

I would love to see them. I should be here. Do you still have my number? If you need to drop them at my house for him, I have room. Just give me a call when you know you will be by this way in case I run off to the store or something.

Kyle, Paul is talking about a slim mount that would go on the front of the bed so the bike could reach over the toolbox and into the mount. Depending on the clearance needed, you would have to move the toolbox a little bit away from the front to allow for it.

How deep is your box Paul? Does the top hinge toward the cab or toward the center. If toward the cab, make sure you allow for the height of the lid. I saw a spring drivin collapsible front tire holder on here that was pretty cool. I've thought about that with a slight mod to allow it to hold the tire only with the pressure from the spring.

Brian knows exactly what I'm talking about. Mines a UWS low-pro. Opens toward the cab. If I could give advice, never get a gull-wing style. My last one had that and it was awful putting anything of length in there.

something like this. Bent so it will allow the box to open while its installed.
