I just don't say s--- to anyone and carry whatever I want, whenever I want, wherever I want in a jacket pocket or shoulder holster. Pants are too revealing even for my .25 but that is what I always carry locally. Bars, churches, hospitals, wherever they don't have an Xray machine or wand you. F--- em. Violence is way over the norm and only getting worse. Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6. Other banned weapons are secured in places that they will have to really look hard to find (RTT's can actually hide a lot of stuff) and if you never give them a reason to pull you over, you won't ever have to worry anyway.

NICE WARM-UP TODAY: Temperatures are in the 25-35 degree range across Alabama early this morning, but despite the morning chill we project a nice warm-up today. With sunshine in full supply, we project a high in the mid 60s for most places this afternoon. The average high for Birmingham on November 30 is 61.

For the rest of the week, look for sunny days, clear nights, and a warming trend. Temperatures reach the upper 60s tomorrow, followed by low 70s Thursday and Friday.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: New global model data suggests the weather weather will continue into the weekend. Look for a partly sunny sky Saturday and Sunday with afternoon highs remaining about ten degrees above average for early December, in the 70-73 degree range. Clouds will increase late Sunday, and a cold front will bring rain to the state late Sunday night and early Monday morning. Moisture will be limited, and rain amounts should be 1/4 inch or less for most communities.

NEXT WEEK: After the rain ends early Monday, look for a clearing sky and cooler temperatures; the high Monday will be in the mid to upper 50s. Tuesday will be dry with a high in the 60s, then a disturbance will bring a chance of rain Wednesday. Rain at times will remain possible Thursday and Friday as an unsettled pattern develops… See the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.

HURRICANE SEASON ENDS: Today marks the last day of the 2021 hurricane season. There were a total of 21 named storms, although a number of them were weak, short lived systems far from land. There were seven hurricanes, four of them reaching “major” status. Of those, only one U.S. hurricane landfall involved a major storm: Hurricane Ida, which slammed into Port Fourchon, Louisiana on Aug. 29 with Category 4 maximum sustained winds of 150 mph. Ida killed 91 people in the U.S., according to the CDC. NOAA estimated Ida inflicted just under $65 billion in damage. That’s the fifth-costliest tropical cyclone in U.S. history behind only Katrina, Harvey, Maria and Sandy.

ON THIS DATE IN 1925: An extremely rare late November hurricane began to affect the west coast of Florida as it strengthened during the day. The storm made landfall very early on December 1st south of Tampa Bay, weakened to a tropical storm as it crossed central Florida, and exited around St. Augustine. The storm regained Hurricane strength off Jacksonville late on the 1st. Heavy rain continued over northeast Florida on the 2nd. Gale force winds were reported from the Keys to Jacksonville and over 50 people lost their lives, mostly on ships at sea. Damage along the coast south of Jacksonville was heavy and excessive rain and wind seriously damaged citrus and truck crops.

Nice, you gonna do a six tire rotation or does the trailer have matching wheels?

The trailer does have the same T4R wheels as my truck. I will more than likely buy another one before I need to do a rotation on the truck.....and then go with a 5 tire rotation. The trailer will eventually get a matching spare and then do a 3 tire for it.

I would just swap the tires from the trailer with the 2 spares each time, but without TPMS in the trailer tires.......kinda a lost cause.

WELCOME TO DECEMBER: Today marks the beginning of meteorological winter, which runs through February 28. The firm dates of meteorological seasons allow us to better observe data and make year-to-year comparisons, since they’re based on the annual temperature cycle, rather than the exact timing of the Earth’s orbit. In terms of astronomy, winter begins at the solstice on December 21 at 9:59a CT, the day with the shortest amount of daylight.

But it won’t feel like winter around here for a while as a mild pattern will continue through the weekend. Dry weather will continue through Friday with sunny days and fair nights… the high today will be close to 70, and in the 72-75 degree range tomorrow and Friday. We should note the average high for December 1 in Birmingham is 60.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: Saturday will be a partly sunny day with a high in the low 70s. The day Sunday looks dry as well… with a mix of sun and clouds we project a high between 70 and 73 degrees. Clouds will increase late in the day, and rain moves into the state late Sunday night (mostly after midnight) ahead of an approaching cold front).

NEXT WEEK: Rain is likely Monday morning… it will end from the northwest during the afternoon hours. The day will be cooler with a high close to 60 degrees. The front will become nearly stationary over South Alabama Monday night as it becomes parallel to the upper air winds (a southwest flow aloft), and that will keep the weather unsettled through the middle of next week with some risk of rain at times Tuesday through Thursday. Drier air returns by the end of the week… See the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.

FIREBALL: At 9:18 CT last night numerous eyewitnesses in the Southeastern U.S. (including Alabama) reported seeing a very bright fireball. It was detected by all 5 NASA meteor cameras in the region; an analysis of the video shows that the object – a piece of a comet about a foot in diameter and weighing approximately 60 pounds – began to ablate 55 miles above some fields south of the town of Hillsboro in middle Tennessee. Moving southwest at 62,600 miles per hour, the meteor only managed to travel some 27 miles through the atmosphere before disintegrating 22 miles above Tims Ford State Park. At its peak, the fireball was brighter than the Full Moon, explaining why it was seen in several states. Thanks to Bill Cooke with NASA in Huntsville for the quick analysis.

FOOTBALL WEATHER: Saturday’s SEC Championship game between Alabama and Georgia will be played in Mercedes Stadium in Atlanta (3p CT kickoff). The day in Atlanta will be dry and mild… with a partly sunny sky temperatures will reach 70 degrees by mid-afternoon.

ON THIS DATE IN 2018: Two weak EF-0 tornadoes touched down in Central Alabama…. one in Perry County south of Marion, and the other at Billingsley in Autauga County.

ON THIS DATE IN 2006: A winter storm produced more than 6 inches of snow along a 1,000-mile-long path from central Oklahoma to northern Michigan from November 30-December 1st. The storm also produced significant freezing rain, which impacted the St. Louis area. An estimated 500 or more homes and businesses were without power in the St. Louis area after this storm.

Just seen this Willys at the Hardware store by my house. Me and a friend of mine bought two of them at an army action about 40 years ago and got one of them running. We had a blast in that thing.
