    They all break if mistreated, I have seen a lot of all different kind of diffs break, even seen 4 break on one ride Toyota and Dana. I know guys that have been running 8 inch with 40s for years and I know people running Dana that break them often. Toyota mini trucks have been running them for over 40 years and it is still what most people want to build. I understand what you are saying I went with a 9.5 myself but I have ran 8 inch for a long time with no issues ever with a diff. I have a Toyota 8 inch in the front of my Samurai now on 39s, I hope they both stay together, lol.

    I don’t know how to tie my shoes. No lie. I do it backwards or something since I’m left handed. They come undone if I don’t double knot. I’m sure I could probably learn, but it’s so engrained I don’t want to haha I get my wife to tie my dress shoes and I just leave them tied. Same guy that’s going to four link his truck. Scary. So anything is possible maybe? Haha

    Never finish a project. Always buy stuff and never finish anything. That’s my home remodel philosophy. Somehow the last house got finished though, so I’ll stick with it :rofl:

    Come to think of it, I built a car several years ago.. when it was finally “complete” (roughly 6 year process) I immediately lost interest, sold it and bought a sportbike.

    I love all this mod talk.

    I think before I’d mod a Tacoma into a crawler I’d look for a 80 series Land Cruiser. One of the most bad ass budget rigs I’ve ever seen was a 80 with the body taken off, a cage, and not much else.

    There was a 94 or 95 over in Columbus on FB for the longest. It had the roof cut off and dude was asking 9K if I'm not mistaken.

    It’d probably be easier. There are much better platforms to build off of than a Tacoma that’s for sure. Fun to play with long travel IFS though and might SAS at some point if it makes sense. I’m happy pulling 13” out of the front for now. I was getting that out of the rear with a relocate haha

    Funny you say that, mine was really stripped down but I started this build with a FZJ80 roller, they have the biggest and strongest axles Toyota has ever made.

    @Brian422

    What year is your car? What kinda MPG's? Would one be expensive to buy? Is it reliable? Are tires cheap? Maintenance cheap? I'm thinking about getting a good MPG DD to drive back and forth to work and to visit my folks.

    I’ve got a 2015 Corolla s manual. It’s really good. I get anywhere from 25-28mpg city and 33-36 on hwy. extremely reliable. Set of 4 tires cost me $325 a couple of months back but I got Falkens. I’ve linked the exact car I have below. But mines a manual.
    Corolla one of the most reliable cars on market. I love it! Only thing I would sell for is the new tundra lol

    My uncle had a 2008 sitting at my folks to sell. He was gonna give it to me, but I didn't take him up on it. It was an ugly light greenish color, but I don't really care. I kick myself for not taking him up on it.

    They’re great cars. Only things that ve done is change spark plugs at 100k and oil change. Car runs like new. Some ppl report getting 3-400k on them without any issues
