One is for the Sidekick transfer case that I cut the front output for the front driveshaft off and only use it as a doubler for the second transfer case. It is used for a high and low gear, in high it is 1:1 ratio and low is 1.82:1, almost double. Then the Samurai transfer case is High 1.7:1 in high and 6.5:1 in low and the third stick is for 2WD and 4WD. I installed them because when I am on a steep hill side it is hard to shift. It also gives me low range in 2WD so if I need low range and need to make a tight turn I can stay in low and disconnect the front axle while turning.

Gotta make a triple stick boot for it now.

Yeah, I got 7 forward and 5 reverse gears. I am think about changing the Tracker gears from 1.82:1 to 4.3:1, then I can do super low. Instead of a doubler it will be a quadruple, lol

Or just add another with the 4.3 then it'd be really crazy all the choices you could have for certain situations and stuff.

ACTIVE DAY AHEAD: The dynamic storm system that brought severe thunderstorms and tornadoes to parts of Texas and Oklahoma yesterday and last night will impact Alabama in a big way over the next 24 hours.

SPC has extended the “moderate risk” (level 4/5) into far Southwest Alabama, including parts of Choctaw, Clarke, and Washington counties. An “enhanced risk” (level 3/5) extends as far east as Carrollton, Moundville, Camden, and Mobile. A “slight risk” (level 2/5) is defined over to Haleyville, Birmingham, and Troy, and the rest of North and East Alabama is in a “marginal risk” (level 1/5).

A line of severe thunderstorms will impact the state tonight, but a few discrete cells could form ahead of the main line this afternoon over West Alabama, where there will be a good combination of shear and instability; these will feature the highest tornado potential. Instability values are not especially high for mid-March in Alabama, but certainly sufficient for strong to severe storms. Instability over East Alabama will be very limited tonight.

TIMING: The window for severe storms opens up in far West Alabama around 2:00 p.m… the window for the I-65 corridor (Huntsville, Birmingham, Montgomery) is from 6pm until 2am… and most of the storms will impact East and Southeast Alabama after midnight.

THREATS: Storms will be capable of producing large hail, damaging wind, and tornadoes. The highest tornado potential is in the “moderate” and “enhanced” risk areas across West and Southwest Alabama this afternoon into the evening hours. The main threat will shift to strong winds tonight as the activity rolls into a long squall line (QLCS).

FLOODING: Rain amounts of 2-3″ are likely across much of the state west of I-65, and a flash flood watch has been issued for this area. It includes places like Huntsville, Birmingham, Selma, and points to the west. Rain totals of 1-2″ are forecast for the eastern half of the state through tomorrow morning.

WIND: Non-thunderstorm gradient winds will gust to 35/40 mph later today and tonight; most of Alabama is in a wind advisory. This could bring a few scattered power outages.

PREPARE: Be sure you have a reliable way of hearing severe weather warnings (NEVER a siren); a NOAA Weather Radio is the baseline. On your phone, be sure emergency alerts are enabled, and have the free ABC 33/40 weather app installed. Know the safe place in your home, and in that safe place have helmets for everyone. If you live in a mobile home, know where you are going (community shelter, business, etc), and have transportation.

WATCH: If tornado warnings are issued, watch us on ABC 33/40. Remember, local TV is free, over the air. You don’t need cable, satellite, or an Internet connection. To watch online, the best options are…

    YouTube: http://youtube.com/abc3340
Facebook: REMEMBER: Don’t be anxious or worried; events like this are very common in Alabama during our tornado season, especially March and April. Have a way of hearing warnings, have a plan, and you will be fine. Odds of any one spot being hit by a tornado are low, but we all have to be ready.

REST OF THE WEEK: Lingering rain and storms will end across East and Southeast Alabama tomorrow morning; the sky becomes partly sunny by afternoon as drier air moves into the state. The high will be in the 67-70 degree range. Then, dry weather continues Thursday and Friday with a partly sunny sky both days; highs will be in the mid 60s.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: Expect a sun filled sky Saturday and Sunday with highs in the mid 60s. Mornings will be cold; most places will be in the 30s early Sunday morning across the northern half of Alabama with frost likely. Colder spots will see a freeze… growers beware.

NEXT WEEK: Monday will be dry and warmer with a high in the 70s. A few showers are possible over far North Alabama Tuesday, but the next signifiant rain event will likely come by Thursday when thunderstorms return; too early to know if this will feature a severe weather threat. See the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.

ON THIS DATE IN 1952: A tornado estimated at F4 strength moved through parts of Morgan and Madison counties, from southwest of Hartselle to near Huntsville. A total of 35 homes were destroyed, 39 damaged in Morgan County. Some were “leveled to the ground” in the communities of Massey and Plainview. In Madison County, four buildings were destroyed, six damaged. Many buildings at Redstone Arsenal sustained damage. At least five people were killed.

The Storm Prediction Center is highly considering issuing a Tornado Watch for the northern and northwestern parts of the area very shortly, possibly within the next 30-60 minutes. Here is the latest Mesoscale Discussion from the SPC:

    Probability of Watch Issuance…80 percent

SUMMARY… Some increase in potential for damaging winds and QLCS tornadoes is expected through the afternoon. A watch will likely be considered in the next hour.

DISCUSSION… Filtered sunshine through upper-level clouds has warmed temperatures into the upper 60s F across northern Mississippi/Alabama. More importantly, dewpoints which began the day in the 40s F have now risen into the low 50s F as the warm front has continued to the north. Given the current northeastward speed of the ongoing convection in western Mississippi, continued destabilization should support on the order of 500-1000 J/kg MLCAPE by mid/late afternoon. Greater uncertainty in sufficient destabilization exist in north-central into northwest Mississippi. A favorably timed increase in the 850-700 mb winds will bring an attendant threat of damaging wind gusts and QLCS-embedded circulations/tornadoes.

SUMMARY… Some threat for damaging wind gusts and QLCS tornadoes will continue into western Alabama this afternoon. The threat will generally be greater in west-central Alabama where moisture/buoyancy is greater.

DISCUSSION… Storms within central/eastern Mississippi have largely remained linear this afternoon. There are some discrete cells ahead of the primary line. The most substantial of these discrete storms is moving northeast through Kemper County, MS and has recently shown a TDS on KDGX radar. The overall expectation is for these cells to be overtaken by the line in the next 60-90 minutes. Going forward, wind damage and QLCS tornadoes are expected to be the primary threats as convection moves into western Alabama. The environment ahead of the convective line has been able to warm to near 80 F in several places. However, moisture return in Alabama has been much less than in Mississippi. Consequently, MLCAPE values have remained from 300-400 J/kg in northern Alabama to 500-700 in west-central Alabama. Due to the forward speed of the line, it is uncertain how much further destabilization can occur through the afternoon. In any event, some potential for damaging wind gusts and QLCS tornadoes will exist given the strong low-level winds and low-level hodograph turning observed in region VWPs

Rain and storms continue to fall over the western half of the area and extending into the east-central and northeastern parts of the area, but the good news is that there are no severe weather warnings in effect across North/Central Alabama. The bad news is that there are several Flash Flood Warnings along with Areal Flood Advisories in effect for several counties in the area. I have seen some rainfall totals on NWS Chat over 4 inches already with more rain falling.

The severe threat is dropping across the area as surface-based instability values are low across the area and falling. The best instability at this time can be found in the extreme southwestern parts of the state and back into extreme southern Mississippi and southeastern Louisiana. The main threat for us throughout the remainder of the night and into the overnight hours will be gusty wind and heavy rainfall, which could lead to more flooding issues. There will be some lightning involved as well, but as instability drops, so will the lightning activity.

Unfortunately, we have had a few damage reports from across the area, some of which in portions of Tuscaloosa County and back into Greene County may have been caused by a brief tornado. We’ll have locations on that damage when they are put out in an official statement by NWS.

More counties are about to be removed from the Tornado Watch, most likely it will be Greene, Sumter, and Walker counties, as the severe weather threat has ended and stable air has moved in. The Tornado Watch will continue until 11 pm for Hale, Marengo, Tuscaloosa, Autauga, Bibb, Blount, Chilton, Dallas, Jefferson, Lowndes, Perry, Shelby, and St. Clair counties

Good Morning!!! Late on the weather post because I was busy turning in my two week notice.

    From AlabamaWX

RADAR CHECK: Rain continues early this morning across parts of East and Southeast Alabama… that rain will be over by mid-morning. The sky should begin to clear this afternoon as drier air works into the state; temperatures will hold in the 60s all day. Tonight will be mostly fair and very cool with a low around 40 degrees.

TOMORROW THROUGH THE WEEKEND: Alabama gets a good chance to dry out. Look for a partly sunny sky tomorrow and Friday with highs in the mid 60s. The weekend will feature sunny pleasant days and clear chilly nights. The high Saturday and Sunday will be in the 62-66 degree range, and we project a low in the 30s early Sunday morning for most places across North/Central Alabama. Scattered frost is likely, and colder pockets could see a late season freeze… growers beware.

NEXT WEEK: We rise into the 70s Monday with a good supply of sunshine. Dry weather will likely continue Tuesday and Wednesday with highs around 80 degrees, followed by a round of rain and thunderstorms Thursday. There are some signals from global models that this system could bring another chance of strong to severe storms, but it is way too early to be specific. See the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.

Nope! Slick slide sport receiver. No deflection pad either or forward assist. Cuts down on weight a ton. IDK the science behind it but it just works lol
