She's running! I flushed the old gas with new, cleaned the bowl and main jet and she fired right up. Now time for parts!

I think I'm going to go with this for a new carb/air set up. The old is too corroded and gummed up.

I want to build the hawk from gokartgod.com I'm going to buy the plans and work on acquiring all of my supplies. I plan on this being a winter project. In the meantime I'm going to leave the motor on the pressure washer frame so I can clean and swap parts on it. I'd like to soda blast the block to clean it up. The pressure washer frame will work great for an engine stand.

He also sells a masters kit with 72 parts containing prefab tabs that I'm going to purchase.

We are headed for Panama City also on Monday. Beach, snapper fishing and high school reunion. Weather is not cooperating. Snapper fishing getting rebooked already for later this summer and bring your umbrella for beach time.

It's going to take a while to source. There are a ton of parts after researching this morning. If I start sourcing parts now I might be finished by Spring 2024. A kit with "most" of the parts is $1,179.95. That does not include tires or the steel tubing. I itemized the parts that come with the kit and priced them individually. The kit is cheaper than buying them all separate. Discussions with my wife are in order before proceeding.
This is a very nice build but would I be able to get my money out of it if I sold it? Might break even.
My guess is about $1500 to complete it with a lot of hours in the garage. I think a better idea might be to search for a completed frame and go from there. I'll have to think on it

    Mesoscale Discussion 1158
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
    0611 PM CDT Sun Jun 18 2023

    Areas affected…Far Southeast Arkansas…Northeast
    Louisiana…Western and Central Mississippi

    Concerning…Severe potential…Tornado Watch likely

    Valid 182311Z – 190015Z

    Probability of Watch Issuance…80 percent

SUMMARY…A severe threat will likely develop across parts of the
lower Mississippi Valley early this evening. A potential for wind
damage, large hail and tornadoes are expected to develop. Weather
watch issuance will likely be needed.

DISCUSSION…Water vapor imagery currently shows west-northwesterly
mid-level flow over the lower Mississippi Valley, with a 700 mb
speed max of 40 to 50 knots located in southwest Arkansas. At the
surface, a trough is located from northeast Texas into south-central
Arkansas. Ahead of this feature, surface dewpoints are mostly in the
70s F. This is contributing to moderate to strong instability, with
the RAP estimating MLCAPE in the 3000 to 5000 J/kg range. In spite
of the instability, large-scale ascent is weak across much of the
region. However, as low-level convergence increases along the
surface trough and southward into northern Louisiana early this
evening, convective initiation will become likely. Based on cam
guidance, storms appear likely to initiate over the next couple of
hours. The 21Z sounding at Jackson, Mississippi has 0-6 km shear
near 60 kt with 0-3 km storm relative helicity near 400 m2/s2. As
the storms grow upscale, supercells with large hail and wind damage
will become likely. A tornado threat is also expected to develop.

    Mesoscale Discussion 1157
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
    0531 PM CDT Sun Jun 18 2023

    Areas affected…Eastern Arkansas…Far Southwest
    Tennessee…Northwest and North-central Mississippi

    Concerning…Severe potential…Watch likely

    Valid 182231Z – 190030Z

    Probability of Watch Issuance…80 percent

SUMMARY…The severe threat is expected to gradually increase across
northeastern Arkansas and may impact areas further south across
eastern Arkansas and northwest Mississippi, especially as convective
initiation becomes more likely. Weather watch issuance will be
likely over the next couple of hours.

DISCUSSION…The latest water vapor imagery shows an upper-level
trough over the Ozarks. At the surface, a moist airmass is located
across much of the lower to mid Mississippi Valley. The RAP has
moderate instability across southeastern Arkansas and north-central
Mississippi with weaker instability further north into northeast
Arkansas and western Tennessee. A severe threat has recently
developed in far northeast Arkansas, near a mid-level vorticity max
associated with the upper-level trough. The severe threat will
likely continue as storms gradually intensify southward across
northeast Arkansas. As the vorticity max moves east-southeastward,
additional convective initiation is expected from east-central
Arkansas eastward across northwest Mississippi. The moderate
instability, strong deep-layer shear and strengthening low-level
shear will make supercell development possible later this evening.
Large hail and wind damage will initially be possible, but an
tornado threat may also eventually develop especially across
    northern Mississippi.

With the current uptick in severe weather activity across Central Mississippi, and the storms projected to continue to build and strengthen, the SPC has drawn up a mesoscale discussion for North & Central Alabama about the issuance of a new Tornado Watch. Here is the text from the discussion:

SUMMARY… A risk for all hazards of severe weather appears to be increasing across western AL. Weather Watch issuance is likely within the next hour, depending on ongoing convective trends.

DISCUSSION… Multiple supercells have developed across central MS and are moving eastward through WW335. The 19/00z JAN sounding featured an uncapped boundary layer with nearly 4000 J/kg of MLCAPE, effective shear around 45 KTS, and significant veering low-level shear contributing to 455 J/kg of ESRH (along with 235 J/kg in the lowest 1 km AGL). Despite generally weak synoptic forcing, these supercells acquired mid- and low-level mesocyclones rather quickly in this environment. At least one radar-indicated tornado has been observed, and all severe hazards remain possible as the storms approach the MS/AL border.

Convective evolution in the highlighted area remains somewhat uncertain due to overturned air from convection earlier today. Temperatures and dewpoints in western AL are generally a few degrees cooler than the environment in which the storms are currently located. This is contributing to substantially increasing MLCIN with eastward extent through the delineated area. This could contribute to rapidly weakening storms deeper into AL and decreasing severe hazards later tonight. However, modest low-level advection is anticipated, which could lessen inhibition. The degree to which this may occur in a narrow zone ahead of the ongoing supercells remains uncertain. Should this occur, the threat for all severe hazards with these supercells — as well as any additional storms that develop in northern MS — could persist for the next few hours across western AL. Due to this scenario, downstream WW issuance appears likely during the next couple of hours.
