I mean, I'll take it if you're giving it away. Will you be at the meet on the 29th?

The one at the slab on October 29th. We have a thread about it.

    Is that a Rav4?

Ouch, yeah that sucks. Thankfully for me the government fiscal year has ended so we've slowed up a bit.

Wife's choice all on her own.

    2016 limited RAV4.

I think I said something along the line of "if the want me to leave with a car today, they won't like the numbers." I told everyone of them that mentioned buying it on that day that they didn't want to play because I was at a disadvantage and I would be more aggressive. I left and they started calling. We went to have an early dinner and go over to bridge street. Got them to within 200$ of my first offer.

I really like the color. My dad's girlfriend has a Rav4 and it's really nice.

Also, my boss bought a 2017 SR5 Double Cab Tacoma in Blue. Really sweet looking truck but he will never modify it..

^^ This is exactly why I hate trying to buy anything from a dealer. Glad you got it for what you wanted though.

When we bought my wife's Overland Edition Cherokee we honestly visited the dealer / left 3 times. Finally got it for exactly what I offered in the very first trip there and got zero percent financing to boot. Just took 4 trips there and me being an unapologetic no dancing around the bush asshole.

First time we were honestly just looking and they gave the age old "what would it take for you to say yes today". I gave them a number. Salesman walked out to "speak to his supervisor" and after a 10 minute wait we just walked out. Salesman and the sales manager followed us out to our vehicle and I told my wife to keep walking and act like we didn't hear them. He came and tapped on my window as we were trying to pull out - introduced me to the sales manager and I just said "I told you my out the door price - here is my card, call me when you can make it happen."

They called back a few hours later and and said they could do it. Got there and they worked the sales price down to my figure but then added tax, prep, surcharge etc so we were still nearly $5k a part. I told them "I made it clear that was the price I was comfortable with out the door, this was a waste of my damn time. I'm out of here."

Third trip was two days later - after they called and said they would mark it down to get me out the door with the original offer. I got there and pulled the old "what what would you give me in trade for her current free and clear car?"

This involved us leaving as I said I wanted to try to sell it on Craigslist before agreeing to the trade-in. They called the next day saying they couldn't give me what I was asking for but they got within $1k of our cash asking price (Craigslist ad) - and the trade-in allowance saved us approx $600 on taxes. So I felt the $400 loss was worth the hassle of not having to deal with meeting strangers to show the car only for them to try to negotiate as well.
