Do you get PTO or do you just have to miss?

We get ETO and long term sick. ETO is basically vacation and callout time. Long-term sick is used if we need time(more than 40hrs off) for surgery or the like.

I'm sitting on 250hrs of ETO and 1100hrs of long-term.

Yup. When I take my 8 days(will give me 20 days total off) in April, I'll use 96hrs of ETO. The only thing I won't get paid for is the normal 16hrs of OT I get or the shift diff from 3p-7p everyday.

Thats nice. We are only allowed to accrue 80 hours each year to roll over or 10 days. After that your amount of time you get increases each year. Ive been here 5 years so ive got 121 hours of PTO to use plus im rolling over some so next year i have 155. But we also get major holidays and stuff. Someone like my boss who's been here 20 years has like 400 hours lol. If im sick we just come in and shut our office door lol. Unless i literally am dying.

We use to be able to bank as much as we wanted. A few years ago they capped it at 500ETO/1000 long-term. They did let us keep what we had and didn't take it away. They also use to let use cash out our ETO at full price...but now it's only worth 40% of the value.

I get a bit over 8hrs ETO 2 LT each paycheck. It pisses me off b/c I use to cash out my ETO and buy something that wasn't needed at all. I cashed out a 100hrs and paid for my Moab trip.

We have to use it or lose it. My work actually encourages us to take time away. Just not everyone at the same time though. Im using a good chunk for my cruise in Feb.

I just wish they'd cash ours out like they use to. Once our last CEO retired, things have gone to shit as far as the company caring about the employees.

So sorry to hear that, at least he didn’t have to be put down. I hope he went in his sleep and didn’t suffer.

I went and dug out my emergency kerosene heater , just hate buying the fuel for it. Last year a 5 gallon was almost 60 and it only last a few days. :(
