Weelllll... here's a convo starter. I'm thinking about going with 285s in a few weeks when I get new tires instead of putting on a new set of skinnies... But I'm hella overwhelmed trying to figure out how many things I'm gonna have to change to make it work. lol

Not much to make them work if you have a 2inch lift already. I can give you a cab chop to help clear them. Will need some wheel spacers as well if you are running stock wheels. 1.25 should be enough.

I see your 3rd gen, but on the 2nd gens, might have to cut a little angle on the bottom edge of the front bumper depending on rim width, castor angle. Potentially have to flatten the pinch weld and flatten the inner fender with a heat gun. Not sure if you did any of that for the skinnies.

Right on! I wasn't sure if I would need different UCAs. Guess that's more of an after-the-fact kind of thing if they can't get it aligned right?

Shouldn't have an issue with the front of the bumper. I cut most of that off when I put on the steel bumper. :anonymous: I have heard about the pinch weld/inner fender stuff. Please correct me if I'm wrong (I've heavily used the search and been reading tons, so just trying to make sure I understand correctly), but to identify if that needs to be done, I've got to pull the coilover and stuff the tire in there as far as it'll go to find out where it contacts?

Official answer, yes. Effectively, you are looking at the centerline (plus maybe a couple of inches) of the tire at full stuff against the firewall side of the inner fender. As for a disclaimer, that is from years ago information on 2nd gens.

New UCA will help with Alignment and fitting the tires better but def not required. Youll just need to add in a little bit more caster when you take it to get aligned. Might ride slighlty worse than stock which thats where new arms come in the help correct the wheel alignment and fit the tires while keeping the alignment at stock. I can cut and weld your cabmount to help with frame clerance at full lock.

Like Brian said you can pull the coil and see where you will bottom out on the bump at but with just 285 i really dont think it will be a big problem like it is for 315's.

    Goodnight John

Cool, not a bad place to be. If it gets serious, I can try to give you a run down of the areas around here.

    Goodnight Jeff
