I like my new overhead lightbar assembly. I don't have the LED bar installed on it yet, but I like the look.

That seems like it will catch every low hanging limb there is. Did you think about making it shorter.

Floor actually has a good point there bill. especially if you are planning to mount the light above the actual bar, you are kind of asking trees to take their best shot at it. may want to try to switch the mounting points, if possible, to run underneath the bar and close to the hood so that the bar can act to protect the light.

I agree, it does look pretty tall. I'll have to see it in person. I do plan to be down there this week whenever possible.

Yes, it looks tall. It is a little, but I was choosing between to Rota, and the low profile. I wanted to try out the Rota because whenever I want to, I can rotate the bar and lights where they are facing downward. I have checked the height, and even with my LED bar on top of that, it is STILL an inch lower than a low profile bar with the 7 inch round HID lights. And when the bar goes into it's rotation, it is only about 4 inches above the roof.

I can't install the LED bar underneath, because it is too wide to fit there. I was actually looking at installing a shorter, 22 inch bar underneath in the future. As far as closer to the hood, any closer and the light will glare off the windshield.

Your comparing apples to oranges there bill. Of course your set up is going to be shorter than a low pro mount and 7 in round lights. Now, if you were to compare apples to apples, you would come out a lot shorter if you went with the low pro mount and the LED bar. Comparing things that way doesn't really work that well, but I do understand what your saying about being 1" shorter than a low pro with the 7" round lights.

Perhaps I am not explaining myself enough here. In general a lot of people with the overhead bars like mine, that are running low profile bars, are also running the 7 inch rounds. I see them on here, on T4R, and other sites. I am able to run the LED bar in the Rota assembly and still be lower. And again, I am running the Rota assembly to allow me to rotate the bar with the LED bar so that the entire assembly will be below the profile line. Yes, I know it is taller than the low profile bar. Yes I know that when I am on the trail it will be a little higher, but according to the Carr manufacturer, the Rota light bar is only 1.5 inches taller than their low profile bar. Not a whole lot of difference really. And again, with the future 22 inch bar that I will be mounting underneath it, I wouldn't be able to do that at all with the low profile bar.

Ok. I didn't know you were going to have two bars mounted to one mount. I guess I wasn't understanding that! Still your gonna catch everything! :D just yanking your chain there!

A lot of the guys you see running the roof mounted lights and 7 in lights also are not running through woods and overgrown trails like it seems we have a habit of around here. One thing to consider. This is the main reason why I dont wheel with my basket on my roof rack.

Yeah. I'm telling you I did a lot of thinking and research before I decided to try this one. If it doesn't work out, I can always switch to a low profile. Either way I am still not as tall as Dave! Hahaha.

Yes, but Dave doesn't have a roof mount LED light bar... Apples to oranges again!

And even if you put your truck in a car crusher, it will still be taller then Mat's non-existent truck.
