Was sitting for 6 months due to a bad fuel leak. Just recently fixed it, charged the battery and it started up fine!

Bummer is that the alarm seems to be on the fritz. The only way to get it to stop is to take out the horn/alarm fuse. If you drive it with the fuse in, alarm stops but randomly the horn honks even without touching it. Today I tried to disable the alarm with the key in ignition (5 on/off then start) and also with the key in the door. After taking out the fuse again so I could think strait I realized my headlights were on, even though switch is off. Had to pull those fuses to turn them off.

How the heck do I just get rid of the alarm system? Can I pull the relay ? (and if so where is it?)

What could cause this? One of my blinker housings is full of water-- could that be causing this? HELP this horn is driving me batty!!!!

Is it aftermarket or add on alarm? From the symptoms looks like that system is possessed: it has it's own controls for lights and horn.

I predict some wire clippers is going to be used ;)

Brain on the way out, if you can find another cool beans and if not its time for an upgrade.

My mom's autopage alarm wasn't turning on the parking lights when arm/disarm, and the horn died. So I replaced with a compustar.

Since most alarms use the horn and lights it is all tied into the alarm.

Water damage if you had more then normal rain fall

Then maybe evil rodents chewed wires causing this fun problem

Kauai has been extremely wet this year for sure but it never flooded the truck. The only damage being one of the side marker lights is full of water (still).

So how does one just disable alarm system? Is there a relay for just the alarm?

You have to figure out which alarm system it is. RS3000, RS3200 maybe if it was dealer installed, or maybe something else if factory installed. Find the alarm box and read the model number off it. Then do a search to find the manual for it. This should answer your questions.

It is the RS 3200. After reading the manual and the normal alarms etc...I think I'm just going to unplug the damn thing. I have no keyless fobs for it anymore and there is no status monitor anywhere in the truck... I'm hoping I can just unplug it:)

You can still get a fob for it, but it has to match correctly, so it's best to get one from a company that will replace it if it doesn't match...

    ...or just unplug it.
