Alarm Remote Start question

I just bought a new rig that came with alarm system. It says prestige on the remote fob which looks like this:

The alarm works great but I noticed the remote start button. It does not work so I was wondering if anyone is familiar with this line and knows a chain that installs these or anything about the module necessary to get remote start.

 

companies tend to use the same remote on more then one model of systems. with remote starts. press that button 2 times firmly within one second. if nothing happens then its just an alarm. you can add a remote start on that alarm, but it wont have great range.
