Really? I've always been told that they love the cold, or the warm not the freeze/thaw cycles since ice can build up... Another couple pilots told me they love the cold more since the air is denser and you get more performance out of it.

we had a SAR case the other night... Took a crabber of his boat and back here. He ws having attack like symptoms.

It was -4f at sea level. And -19f at 150 feet while we were flying. Idk how cold it was with the wind chill. But I was doing some ramp hoists with the cabin door open so I could use the hoist and my lips froze together. Ya it does help having colder denser air for a helicopter. But once it starts to get closer to 0* or in the negs the performance goes down cause you are using engine bleed air to keep the inlets from freezing so that takes available power down a bit. But everything a helo does is PFM....

Ordered from N-Fab a light bar for a 12 Taco on January 11. Now told the bar "should" return from "powder coating" on Feb 18 and "should" be shipped the same day. Problem is "Lance" has told me "the bar is coming back from powder coating "tomorrow" too many times (4) before." Had I known what I do now, I would have enrolled in a metal fabrication course through UA, purchased a welder, and practiced. I hope this is going to be worth the wait.

Ahhh... It's okay. Been spending most our time up around the Pribilofs. Got the absolute shit beat out of us last trip, couple crab boats blew a few windows out.

Looking like we'll be in Kodiak for the 10th of March. Then we'll be back up from August to Oct. Shouldn't have moved haha!

Just had to tow my buddy out of a ditch. To his credit, right before I had pulled him out he was in a different ditch completely buried and he manged to make it out without a shovel or a tow. Subarus are cool like that. But when I pulled him out only his right side went into the snow lol.

So I just had to share this. I think it's hilarious that a manufacturer has realized the uselessness of the CD slot in every vehicle today, and is marketing a universal cradle that gets shoved into the CD slot. You then lock it in place, by turning a screw that expands the mounting blade inside of the CD slot...genius...lol...
