I know! I guess I understand now why they have those "We ship after 25 have paid" policies. C'mon peeps, just pay up already!

 

I would say from a safety perspective it's better than nothing, from a cost standpoint I'd say there's a high possibility of the warped rotors causing uneven wear on the new pads and then once you replace the rotors you'll also have to replace the pads again because they will cause the new rotors to warp from uneven surface contact.

 

^this. Probably not too expensive to get the rotors turned or are they past that point?

 

That's pretty much what I was thinking too....damn. Got any recommendations on brands of rotors? I was leaning towards brembo blanks because a few guys on here said they were decent.

 

I have no idea if they are past the point of turning. I've never turned a rotor before so I don't know how to tell. They are not warped that bad though, or at least it doesn't feel that bad.

 

I think it's only about 50 bucks for most places to do it. It's not hard, I've done a few sets myself. If I were doing my brakes, I'd go brembo to replace the rotors, but I really like spending money on my truck.

 

Well I usually like to do things right the first time, hence why my truck is still stock, haha. Where's a good place for buying the rotors? I had it bookmarked with my shopping cart filled out with the rotors/pads but I can't seem to find it...

Probably Car Quest or O'reillys are the cheapest local places for rotor turning. If you give them a call they can tell you the minimum diameter they can legally turn to, and then you can pop a dial caliper on yours and see if it's going to work. A lot of times you can turn them almost/all of the way symmetric again. Def worth the phone call and the measurement for budget. I've got a caliper and a garage if you need a quick hand with it. If they're thick enough to turn, you can just leave it in my garage and turn em out here at this O'reillys too.

2. Do you have instructions from the LED guy for your switchback drl's? I'm thinking there may be more to it then I originally thought, and I'd hate to have you cut the wrong thing based on my ignorance of the new switchbacks vs an incandescent 4157 XC

Thanks for the offer. I'm gonna try to take a peak at everything next week. Should give me a good excuse to avoid the family members for an hour or two I'll most likely just end up ordering new rotors but if they don't look that bad I'll think about turning them. $181 bucks for new rotors and pads isn't too bad. Free shipping as well.

I got my slotted rotors and hawk brake pads from EBS online. Good prices in my opinions. I just installed em last month and love em!!!! Such nice braking now

 

Meh. Brakes are over rated. That's why you drive a stick, jus gear down!

 

Unfortunately I don't drive stick. I turn OD off to slow down on the highway and shift into 2 when coming to a stop light, but I still need my brakes haha.
