That's what mine came with. Getting 265-70-17 when I get my Duratracs since they don't come in the stock size.

    Too many to list now.

Should be alright, depending on the tire theyre only about 10-15 pounds heavier than stock. My35's are only going to be 18 pounds heavier IIRC. Tall skinnies make all the difference in the world.

My mileage from running stock to running 285/75/16 went from the normal 20mpg to 13mph. Totally sucked but it was worth it to me haha.

Do you guys have summer and winter tires? Or are the ones u rock that look cool good in our winters? I'm moving to Fairbanks for paramedic school so I won't be able to afford 2 sets of tire.

I've always ran two sets. But once I lift, I plan on running duratracs year-round.

Ben, thanks for the link to that paper. It was really helpful. Hadn't really considered the force coming into play on the larger surface area having a real negative impact on performance off-road but makes sense. I mean that's the same concept on why I got my studded tires more narrow but didn't think of the off-road stuff. Thanks again

If Costco or sam's had 33x9.5r15 I'd be doing that but I'm gonna have to settle for 33x10.5

Custom TRD Badged Grill, PowderCoated Black Steelies, with 285/75/16's. Studded Firestone Winter Force for Winter snow, Firestone Destination M/T for the summer mud, 2.75" Ready Lift Block kit in the front, and 2" AAL in the back, 5100 billies, TRD Cat-Back Exhaust, K&N CAI system under the hood, on a sesame seed bun.
The guys up here that run their M/T or A/T NOT studded are nuts, if you ask me. THAT BEING SAID, I'd worry more about your shocks and suspension on the god awful frost heaves that litter the interior than the fact your tired are or are not studded ;)

Running no studs all depends on the tire. For instance a TSL will do REALLY well in the winter because super swampers have a very soft rubber compound that grips the road really well. Hercules MT's also do really well and those can even be studded.

    Ya callin me nuts?!?

I have always just run ATs year round. I have since i moved up here on all three of my trucks (91 toy pickup and 96 T100 before the taco) ive had four different kinds of ATs on the trucks. Some are better than others but they have all gotten me around.

That said, the truck stays in 4wd all winter. Works for me and im not planning on changing to two tire sets anytime soon.

I would say the biggest thing is just drive appropriately for the conditions. Take corners nice and slow, don't slam on the brakes, etc.
