The stock FOB has no visual indicator that it is or isn't working. i think for a sanity check... you might want to stop by O's or AZ parts store and use their fob checker. this will at least give you an idea if the FOB actually is working.

with the viper alarm disabled, the stock fobs should work.... even if the viper alarm is working.

From the previous owner, The viper alarm could be just an add-on for the remote start purposes.... or it could have been the replacement for a bad stock unit.

You are in a tough spot... i would really need to see the work that has been done "electrically" to see the quality workmanship you are dealing with. ultimately, you could just have some bad units.

if it was installed correctly... it would tie into the stock wiring and still act like the stock FOB's.

I'm pretty sure that the viper auto start was added aftermarket. It's a two led, The stock fob was working fine until the other day, it wouldn't lock the truck. now it doesn't unlock or lock. The deck is working a little bit better now that it's been reset.

I will probably work on figuring out more after work today (before bingo time. Yes.. I'm native, yes I go to bingo... don't judge me. lol)

was this truck bought from a dealer? i don't remeber if you said that already.

the viper alarm is always aftermarket.... lol

I was referring to why it was actualy installed in the first place. I would say the Viper alarm was disabled for the point of selling the truck, if it was from the dealer.

I would say the stock FOB more than likely just bit the dust if the battery didn't fix the issue. however, the keyless entry module could have bit the dust too. The viper can bypass that module if needed.

Seward highway south of Girdwood closed for a while because of a 7 car crash involving a tour bus with fatalities...

Just an FYI for anyone wanting to head south this weekend.

I was stuck in that traffic on the way to whittier but turned around. I figure we were 10 minutes behind the accident.
