The 4x2 is a 4 banger also, that's why I was saying it seems low. But who knows haha. I wouldn't trade for a 4 banger.. ever..

Anyone know if there is a shop locally that carries in-channel rain guards/visors?

Looking for a couple winter pointers for the interior.

First, i have four 100watt lightforces on an nfab bar, finally dark enough part of the time to get them dialed in. I have one pair of seven inch and one pair of nine inch. Does it make sense to light up both ditches with the sevens and light up the road with the nines, all on the high beam switch?

Right now I am running four clear lenses, all pencil beams, almost but not quite perfectly aimed. I am kinda tempted light the ditches with the nines using flood lenses and light the road with the seven inch pencils...

Second, i now have two sets of oem rims and looking at tires. When i bought the truck new in march i thought the factory dunlop at20s were fine on hardpack. Now i am down to 8. 8.5 and 9 /32s tread depth all around (14/32 new). At current tread depth i find the dunlops to be a very exciting tire on wet pavement.

My last truck was a furd ringer. I did fine running gy wranglers year round with 4wd and chains on all four corners 5 or 6 days annually...

I am thinking studded nokia nordman 5s for deep winter. If that is not a bad choice, what three season tire would do good on early and late snow, and run down to kenai for dipnetting in the summer, and not embarass me at wet sandy boat launches?

    Thanks in advance...

Since u have an extra set of rims blizzaks are amazing for winter use, a lot of truckers used blue or amber lens covers for nighttime/ winter driving

Yup, my wife is on blizzaks, has been for years. Wxcept for deep snow i would be in blizzaks too.

You know that one guy that goes out half drunk in a snowstorm because he forgot to get diapers on his way home from work? I am one of the 8 people that have to go out in the same storm to put a rod in his broken femur, not counting ems amd police.

I also do some homecare stuff for the infirm. They often have poorly plowed driveways with exciting grades.

I think blizzaks wpuld be fine for 95 to 98% of my winter driving, but i cant, or rather the community cant afford for me to be on snowshoes when i am supposed to be in my truck.

I have been watching lughtforces all summer. I count anout 75% clear, about 15% amber and 5 % blue.

For semis that clearly run the haul road maybe 50-25-25.

I cant tell from a polite distance who is running spot or flood or combo lenses.

20% tint on all windows, Deckplate mod, satoshi-ish grille, blacked out and/or body matched emblems, rattle canned rims, red l.e.d. interior lights, bilstein 5100's and OME 881 coils , deaver 8 leaf pack, 1.5" lift shackle, alpine sound system, 55w HID lightforce 140 and 170 fogs
Do what I do with the lightforces, it works great in the snow.

Take the smaller ones and angle them down a decent bit and adjust them to a real wide beam so that they light up the whole width of the road but not very far out. I assume you know you can screw the housings in and out to adjust the beam pattern. Then take the big ones and put those as more of a pencil beam straight down the road.

In shitty snowstorm conditions I don't even run my headlights, just the smaller lightforces. By angling them down they light up only the road surface and not all of the flying snow which makes seeing where you're going 1000x easier. They also light up the ditches fairly well still. Then in normal driving conditions you can run them plus the larger ones for down the road visibility.

The only downside is that you kinda have to wire each set separately, and on stand alone switches not tied in to your headlights, but in the snow the last thing you need is gobs of light being thrown everywhere haha

Thats sounds like a pretty good idea AK Taco.

Do you suppose i could get much the same effect if i put maybe a 20 inch led bar on the underside of my nfab bracket and wired it seperate from the headlights? It is too bad we cant run the factory fogs without also burning the factory lows...

Yeah I'm sure either way it'll have the same outcome which is trying to avoid the hyperspace effect from trying to drive a normal speed with flying snow haha

And 55w HID's in those lightforces will make them so so much better :D

I had 0 issues last winter with mine. Morimoto 35w HID's in headlights. I have cheap 55w DDM HID's in my lightforces and I don't think I tried them at temps that low last year. 55w (or higher) HID's in the lightforces make them a whole new animal.

    hahaha exactly.

some properly aimed lights make that almost non existent for me now :)
