I’d like to consult someone that has first hand experience about this. Maybe you’d know somebody?

Anyone not doing much tomorrow and want to help install some leaf springs on a 2015 Tacoma? It'll be in a garage with a lift in North Anchorage.

Maybe I'll try to tackle it this weekend then. I'm still open to an extra set of hands but what's the worst that can happen haha.

I did mine in my one car garage on jackstands by myself. It wasn't bad, a few hours working at a relaxed pace drinking beer.

I may still go to the shop on base just because they have the bigger sockets but now I'm starting to feel dumb that I wasn't able to tackle this myself haha

I sure did. Little bit of rake, but I'll be getting 5100s and 887 coils soon to correct that.

Nice work looks good! Just out of curiosity is there a big reason why you're going 5100s over OME?

I've heard 5100s are more user friendly. I'm not really sure if that's true and how that applies to install and every day use, but so many people use them so I figured they were a safe bet. Should I be reconsidering?

I don't have 5100s so I can't really speak to them. But I can say that I've heard from the guys at GTF that the 5100s don't fair as well up here in the cold. When I was considering 5100s over OME they said they've had quite a few blown and faulty 5100s, even some that were relatively new coming into their shop. I'm sure a few guys run em up here, but from my personal experience I've beat the shit out of my OME shocks and thought I had blown em out a few times but they were totally fine. Just trying to help you weigh options!
