I have all 5100s on my truck and haven’t had any problems yet but I don’t really do much to stress them in the cold. Coldest I’ve actually off-roaded and made them work was probably 20°, most of the winter is just regular road driving to work with a few bumpy unplowed roads going to some friend’s houses.

I've had the 9000s up front and the 90021s from OME. I'm currently running the 9000s since they're for extra weight to be paired with 886s and that's my current setup. I used to run the 90021s and 887s and also 884s before that on them when i didn't have extra weight. I've gotten pretty familiar with the different coils (unfortunately for my wallet) lol

I think it'd be pretty cool to do a Tacoma meet where we drive to McCarthy or the Denali highway or something like that. I drove the Denali this past summer and I think fall is probably a better time to go though. Summer weather seems pretty shit there unless you can find a really good window. I spent the night out there in a full on rain, thunder and lightning storm in my CVT with high wind, weather turned fast from sunny to crap

I'm kind of in the same boat. I don't off road much if at all, it may be easier to just do the OME though since everything else (coils and leaf springs) are OME as well.
With my current setup what shocks and coils would you recommend to level out with my back end? I obviously won't hold you to anything. My back end went from 35 3/4" to 39 1/4".

Personally I would either go with 885s and the top plate spacer option on ToyTec.com with the 90021s, or the 9000s and 886 coils. Even though the 886s and the 9000s are made for extra weight up front and lot of people warned me that when I had those with no extra weight that the ride would be way too rough, I actually liked the ride way better. It was more stiff but it wasn't bad at all, I found it was more firm and rugged, easier to control. I went ahead and did those because I knew in the future I'd add a winch and plate bumper, and now I have the extra weight and the ride is a bit softer. Plus they haven't sagged at all under the extra weight. I had 3.5" of lift up front after 886s and 9000 shocks from OME, after the extra weight (steel skid, aluminum plate bumper, warn winch) my front is at like 3.2". So if you really wanna get a level truck that's that full 3" and won't lose it, I think the 886s and 9000s are the way to go. Because the 90021s and 885s will sag with any extra weight up front. It's all about planning for the future.

I don't have any intentions of adding any significant weight anywhere else on the truck. I definitely do prefer a solid ride as opposed to bouncing around. Especially since I don't off-road much. So just to make sure I understand it right the 886s up front and 9000s all the way around with the top plate spacer should level me out?

Everything you said is correct except: Don't add a top plate to 886s and 9000s.

They'll give you like 3"-3.5" on their own. A top plate probably wouldn't even fit, at least not very well lol. Top plate spacer is only necessary on the 885s and 90021s

I only threw the 1/4" spacer on the driver side to compensate for the taco lean (battery being on that side). That's the only spacer I'd add on the 886s and 9000s

Oh ok. Will the Taco lean kind of correct itself with that setup?

That was the spacer to correct the taco lean that I was talking about. Goes on the driver side of course

Just saw this post on here but yes if you get that exact setup you shouldn't have any lean. That's the setup I have and it doesn't have any noticeable lean

That sucks man. Once it warms up we really should set up a mod day. I think it would be a lot of fun.
