Hypocritical drama at it's best. Correct, plowing through shallow runoff river beds, rutting wet ground, and being part of the fuck-o-rama show is pathetic.

*regardless if it was a trail at one time or not, hacking down live trees is not a Tread Lightly policy.

the dude is also forgetting that this is a race with a $100k prize. Why should the lead rig cut it all nice and tidy so that the people behind can get a better time because of the cleared trail?

Decent follow up episode on Sunday. The douche in the D90 gets breaks and loses tons of time. The Land Cruiser continues to dominate!! I love that rig! :D

Thats what they say they were, but from personal experience those were really all just 4-wheeler trails haha

Lots of bolt on chrome stuff
I caught up on the second episode last night. It has definitely been given the reality TV treatment, but I find it entertaining so I'll probably keep watching.

Someone in another thread was saying that the area they went through in the first stage was an established offroad park. They even used the name of the nearby river instead of the name of the park to make it sound more badass?

Correct.. They were at Jim's creek. Its only like two miles off pavement and everybody and their brother takes old beat to shit mini vans and station wagon and does whatever they want to them. You could take a stock tacoma anywhere they were easily, aside from the deeper water crossings maybe.

Then why do they say the Wolf River valley? It looks exactly like Jim Creek at the dunes, but according to their maps I'm not so sure...

They started at the main dunes at Jim's, guaranteed. From there they say they say they're headed back towards the glacier. At least thats where fat boy redneck mullet man points. Jim' creek isn't the main river in the big valley there, its just the one everyone calls it by.

But I am 100% sure they start right on top of the main dune just off to the left of the river at Jim's.

I just read on alaska4x4 where to of the competitors were posting... Apparently they changed the names of trails and made up the map to avoid abuse of the trails they took. So they lied to stop tourists from tearing it up and breaking down.

That makes sense haha I knew as soon as I saw those dunes it was Jim's which made it even funnier when they were talking it up about how scary and extreme it was

Good show last night. The D90 is toast!:sadviolin:

3 Toyota's and 1 Jeep left in the race. Super Jeep seems like it is going to break any day now. The Land Cruiser is still beasting it, although it popped a tire on the last trail. The 4Runner is running surprisingly well at their slower pace. No damage at all to that rig!

Any predictions on who will win?

I'd guess the landcruiser or the newer T4R.

I do think some of them are a bit under prepped. Beadlocks would have been a nice upgrade for most teams. I think the newer 4 runner is a good team, aside for their creepy brother sister relationship.

I was going to mention that as well, but just didn't care enough to correct him.
