Because God decided he is going to make up for all the shitty winters in the past! I am so stoked for this winter, have a feeling it is going to be GREAT.

Not sure if i posted this already, but hello to the other AK guys (and perhaps gals). Looks like most of you are up in Squarebanks. I can get away with saying that after having lived in North Pole for 10 years as a kid. THANK GOD as a kid. haha

You guys need to figure out a way to rep Tacos on Ice Road Truckers, Ford is taking all of the glory, one of the DOT guys was using a Raptor as a work truck, I'm sure that happens all the time, lol.
    Sorry if I threadjacked anything!

Yea, for the most part people in AK LOVE their american brand trucks, ESPECIALLY up north. But, i must say i've noticed A LOT more 2nd gen tacomas and tundras in the past few years than times past. Maturity maybe? haha

Niice! Definitely some awesome fishing up here. You gotta check out AK in the winter man, unless you don't partake in any of the activites like skiing/snowmachining. Nonetheless though, it's beautiful in the winter! (but extremely cold between January and February, don't visit during those months.)

its not something you will notice, when you say north slope area i think of a rural area....I have worked on the north slope and have driven to fairbanks and there really is nothing inbetween but pump stations and within 100mi. of fairbanks there are a few small area's with people living with them. If you do come up, 4x4 is almost mandatory, block heater, battery warmer, and possible oil pan heater will be much wanted items for your truck. I know there are a few towns up north, Barrow and surrounding villages with fewer than 300 people in most. i just googled weather in Barrow alaska and the temp is -20 without wind chill. The year I worked up on the North Slope i saw and worked in -57 f. and with wind chill it was minus 82 degrees.. Dress warm my friend.

snowmaching is a favorite past time, sno boarding, etc.........anything related but i hated riding up north because frost bite is a bitch in that cold tempature.

What about in Fairbanks as far as people? I know theres a college up there, when I think of Alaska I think of small villages with little eskimo families and such haha. As far as the things to do that you listed I love all of them, and am a avid hunter.

fairbanks you might like then, mostly caucasian, its small has great area's to hunt> has most of the department stores like most city's. hot summers, cold ass winters. Its a great place for both extremes. Im going to guess about 45,000 people live there, big military presence there. great club scene.......not much else i can say as i have only worked there on occasion on all the military bases and it keeps getting better all the time.
