i may be a tad obsessed over them, but they are some awesome movies. I personally think the first one is the best, no way to top that plot line and events. thanks!

thanks dude, im really happy I am able to work on this thing and learn more......I had no idea what I was getting into restoring this thing from a woods truck to a street truck lol. I knew nothing about wiring, but am slowly understanding more and more.

well....uhhm....yeah.....about that lol. lets just say ive already spent twice as much as what the truck was bought for on parts and stuff to get this thing fixed up lol

If I do any engine swaps it'll probably be a 22r with a 20r head. It would be cool to throw the 2.7 4 banger and the 5 speed manual

well....$85 later....I got new headlights, 2 new headlight relays, and another mulitmeter since the other stupid harbor freight one I had, the leads fell off lol. I REALLY didnt want to spend this money......but these are the parts that are in the way to finish up the wiring harness. Also got 2 new headlight connections coming in sometime this week

I have lights! some progress lol, got the head lights to "work", one more step to being driveable. only issue im running into is is the high beams dont work unless the headlights are switched on, which im not sure if thats just how the 80 is or what. I was messing with the Tacoma and the highbeams and least momentary come on but dont flip back to stay on unless the lights are on, which the pickup doesnt do that. Another thing im curious with is the brake lights being so bright, when I hook them up to direct power, they are bright as fuck and the STOP lights dont come on since they tails are so f'ing bright.

my truck has officially been road killed......lol, since my headlight assemblies are so rusted and horrid, I've been looking for new ones and havent been able to find any for an 80 pickup. So my temporary fix is zipties....lol, but I do gotta say...they are holding those headlights in place and they arent goin anywhere haha

If I remember right the high beam of the 1990 pickup I had weren't lighting if I did't had the switch turn on. And also there wasn't any difference between daylight and low beam when I turned the switch on lol

Electrical can be painful sometimes. One suggestion for the rusted headlight mounts would be to see if a Corolla or other Toyota vehicle might use the same generic components. If you have a salvage yard that would let you wander around that has a good supply of Japanese vehicles sitting in the weeds you might find the non critical parts like this that either bolt in, or could be made to work.

this wiring is really getting annoying lol, I think im gonna rip all the wires out of the fuse block and re do it to the way I need it. Im tired of having all these wires I dont need. Im really honestly not all that worried about the zip ties lol, if it stays, it stays haha. I will keep my eye out for new assemblies though, I dont want this to be the permanent fix lol

I guess it depends whether you plan to license it or not. At least in Ontario, Canada, zip ties wouldn't pass the scrutiny of a safety check. Don't give up on the electrical even though its frustrating. There's a certain elegance to restoring something to stock. It worked once, so it can work again! Good luck!

Alright, so I think I have solved my wiring problem I've been having with the headlights. First photo is the best I could do for the issue I have with the 2 constant hot wires.

The second photo is what I came up with, so once I get off work here, I'm gonna go rewire it and hope for the best

Also according to fedex, my drag link rebuild kit got delivered earlier today :D time to get my extreme play in my steering wheel gone

things are moving along! transmission is out and tomorrow the "new" one will be getting put in. I will finally have reverse lol, clutch doesnt look too bad either. Bought a new starter and gonna get another alternator as well just to replace them since I think the alternator may not be working up to par where it should be

The pawn shop on the corner of Mary Esther and 98 has two winches, one being a Warn M6000. Would probably be a good match for the '80 if you keep it on the light side.

Did you happen to catch how much they were? I gotta figure out what to do with that crossmember on the g52, it looks like it should line up....but it doesnt. Probably gonna have to fab a new crossmember up and replace the trans mount bushings. I think I may go with the exact same winch I have in the tacoma, 9500lbs for $300, I think the pickup is gonna weigh more once I'm done with it
