It’s not too bad. I have gotten pretty good at flipping my schedule for the most part. I take a nap Saturday morning when I get off, then I can spend time with the wife Saturday and Sunday, and get another nap before work Monday night. Some weekends are harder than others of course.

Makes you old in a hurry. I like nights better usually laid back.

It does have that effect. One of these days I would like to go back to a daytime gig, but as long as I work here, I prefer nights. It’s quieter and I don’t have much to deal with.

I really haven’t found any places that I really like yet. I usually just go with friends to the lakes and stuff, but I don’t like all the people. I think I’m going to explore some of the WMA’s this summer and try to find someplace quieter. Most of the camping I have done has been around Lake Texoma or Lake Eufaula, and they are packed with people drinking and being stupid. I like to be the only stupid drunk

There is a really nice place in Sulphur. The Chickasaw National Recreation Area. I have been through there, and it looks beautiful but I have never camped there.

I hear ya on that. Think we’re going to go explore Arkansas some. There some pretty woods there and not too long of a drive for us.

My dad has been driving trucks since he sold his fabrication business in 1999. He started with Werner Trucking working 3 weeks on 1 week off. After my mom was tired of fully raising 2 boys without a father, my dad retired from Werner, and joined his current job at Forward Air Freight. He owns his own truck, and is paid a good salary, plus the company is paying for 90% of the truck. He works Sunday-Monday from 6 PM to 7 AM. Here's his truck, which will be replaced by a newer Freightliner sometime this year:

My dad is a truck driver, too. He owns his own truck and just does local runs. Usually works like 2 am to noon most days.

My dad drives from McAllen, to Corpus Christi. He meets with a driver from Houston who also drives down to Corpus. This is probably his best paying job, and is earning an hourly wage of around $43ish, with 65-70 hours each week.

It's good money, but a lot of work. He also loads/unloads his own trailers, so he's in an oven warehouse from 6:30 PM to 11 PM.

I’m 17 and got my tacoma as a 1st car too!! I love it! Congrats. I haven’t done a lot to it yet. I’ve took off all the emblems in the back, took off mudflaps and installed the roof rack. Saving up for some tires, eventually want a new grille and headlights/fog lights.
