I ordered from the company you linked,back in June.They said it was shipped,and gave me the vessel name and sailing dates,To Vancouver.Ship landed Sept 9 and I messaged them about delivery timing,and now they won't respond.I am only 1 hr from the port.

How long did it take you to receive it from them after ship landed?Are you close to the port?

Will post feedback on quality when I finally get it.

 

Mine was a couple weeks if I remember correctly. How long it sits in customs is the biggest factor. Once it was released from customs I had it in 5 days.

 

They messaged my July 1st saying goods where at wearhouse prepared to ship out...I asked for tracking info which they said the shipping company didn't provide because it was the cheapest shipping option....they said up to 65 days for delivery. I was just prepared for it to never show up lol. Then I got a call August 20th to set up delivery and it was dropped off on a pallet Aug 21st, 51 days total for delivery. The quality is great, now to just find out of this will fit my 2nd Gen.

 

That definitely fits tighter than my tape measure suggests mine is going to fit the 2nd gen. Hoping to get it test fit today, as soon as I get my electric hoist installed to lift my tent and bed rack off

To purchase this cap I randomly picked a seller on Alibaba (see link above) and started chatting with them. Every pic they had was caps on 3rd gens. I asked if they had a version that would fit my 2013 Tacoma short bed. They assured me they had one that would fit. Me being me and not trusting them I proceeded to send a ton of pictures with measurements of my bed sides and cab height, width, etc. They responded confirming they had something that would work but would have to manufacturer it. So, I ordered and waited, and of course, messenged them like once a week.

4/17/2024 purchase made (used credit card through PayPal so I was double protected in the event never showed up)

7/1/2024 supplier messaged saying goods were at wearhouse prepared to ship out

8/20/2024 freight company called to schedule drop off

8/21/2024 freight delivered to my residential address

Well, per usual I have about 5 projects going on at the same time in the shop but had just enough room to slide this bad boy up in place to test fit. I am pretty happy with the fit.

The annoying and now turned brain teaser puzzle is taking it apart 1 piece at a time while still on the truck to seal all the joints and get all the hardware installed. I just threw in a few bolts here and there to get it together for a test fit. However it was enough of a pain to get on there due to the tight quarters, the truck being on Jack stands, my hoist currently holding my tent and no other helping hands to lift that I'm NOT going to take it off again.

I do plan on trimming the lower lip off the front cab side panel so that I can adjust the whole cap forward about 3/4" so it fits a bit better towards the cab (I think I saw some YouTube about this on one of the Bynd4x4 caps). Also as it sits the tailgate is a bit snug to get closed. I'm sure the tailgate would close easier if I actually had the double bulb seal in place, but it will definitely close if the cap is forward a bit.

Looks great! The bulb seal underneath will solve the tailgate issue. Mine wouldn’t shut when I test fit it but that extra 1/4”-3/8” made all the difference.

I started a conversation with an agent yesterday and ordered 2 of these today.

 

Not sure I like the edge left between topper and bed. I would think they should be about .5-.75 longer and at least that wider per side. They do look decent and for the price maybe hard to beat. Wonder how much load they can take on top.

 

I agree the sizing is just a touch off. But once I got the bulb seal and everything tightened up I think it will be enough for me. Especially for the price. This one is aluminum, I believe it's got like 400-450 dynamic load rating.

 

I might go this route given the extreme cost of the Alucab and rsi ones. Any issues with rust so far?

 

I went with aluminum for weight savings and avoiding rust. If it happens to break/crack it'll just be an excuse to buy a spool gun for my welder

 

I just got mine in a couple days ago and installed tonight, I wanna mount my rooftop tent to it but I need crossbars, I was wondering what you have.

Here's how I set mine up. All unistrut parts. Very stout and probably overkill. Can get everything from big box store except for the brackets (link below) I couldn't find anywhere.

Mind showed up a couple weeks ago.Finally got time to get it put together and on the truck.Build quality and fit is great.Only issue was I paid extra to have it all built out of 3mm aluminum,and they built it to their normal specs,which are a mix of 3mm for structural and 2mm for rest.They refunded the extra I paid.

Fit is great.Not sure I would order from them again as they didn't build it to the specs I asked for.Then the rep argued that is was,even though I sent pics showing thickness.They did finally refund the extra I paid,but I had to dispute with Alibaba.
