    UPDATE:

Order placed for my F250 shell on 11/11, gave all dimensions on 11/16, completed production & photos on 11/29. Dummy me, I decided this weekend to add the roof platform (similar to the platform shown below) and they said it would be a week to produce. Doh!

Still, pretty excited about the speed. Up next...the slow boat from China part.

I asked a seller and they asked for this measurement. I think Tacomas beds are wider towards the cab correct? Did anyone have to give more than these measurements? [IMG]
Do you have a 2nd gen? Any issues with fitment? What measurements did you need to send them?

Yes it's a 2015 2G. They wanted a video of the measurements but I still dont know why. But I was very happy with everything. I bought the SS over the Alum so I can use magnets to keep stuff in its place.

Yes, they need video measurements of basically the entire bed for me. About 10-12 measurements in all. Tried to get a jump on ordering one of these as I'm not picking up the truck until Friday..oops.

Also my supplier said that the aluminum is 100kg and the steel (not stainless) is 125kg. Both of those seem high to me?

Did you have any fitment issue with your tailgate? I think the 2nd gens have a lower tailgate than 3rd gen.

My truck is a 3rd gen. I did not have issues with the measurement and do not have to give the measurements. I just provided if the truck has a short bed or long bed. They were able to make the camper shell just using that info. My camper is made of aluminum.

These guys are ruthless. All I did was ask them for pricing and everyday I wake up with a shitload of calls/emails/IMs and they just started sending me invoices demanding I pay for wasting there time. I never even picked one or asked how much shipping would be haha just exchanged a few messages

Looks like you got a bad supplier. The supplier I got was pretty awesome and was very supportive even after long my purchase was completed.

Finally picked up my '19 cement gray off-road last week and got the measurements to the supplier. I ordered an aluminum topper with 2 windoors and front glass, it is in production as of last night. After production and shipping it'll be about 30 days to make it to the US and hopefully not much longer after that is when I'll receive it. I'll keep you updated on the process and quality.

The supplier has been very helpful. She sent a mock drawing based on my measurements but I had her make some adjustments and she did.

Ended up paying $1,290 shipped and added a couple of cross bars for the top for $50.

    The basics
Ordered 10/24/24 from Jiangsu Pingwei material tech co.
    $1190 shipped to Oregon
    Added cross bars for $50

Please note: once i placed the order, i never heard from the seller unless I asked but was very prompt on the response. First time i was contacted was from the shipper.

Sent video of measurements on 10/28/24

Requested update on 11/24. They stated it "arrived at the warehouse in China".

Requested update on 12/17. They stated "coming to the destination port".

Received text 12/18 from a shipping company and confirmed delivery for 12/23.

Delivered on 12/23. Props to R+L carriers. The online tracking the night before said it would be delivered at 10:35am and he showed up at 10:33am. I removed the box from the wooden crate and then removed everything from the box and packaging. This thing was bullet proof! I'm impressed with how they packaged it. Lots of foam and bubble wrap.l and the shipping box was super thick. I will be putting this together on Friday, 12/27.

Anyone got any tips? From what I've read here in this thread, seems like a good idea is to put it together make sure it all goes together, then take it apart, seal it, put it back together and install.

Can I do this without installing side and rear doors and put those on after I get it 100% installed?

Any specials tools? Just in case, i ordered the double hole weather stripping and track mounting clamps from Amazon.

Any advice would greatly be appreciated. I'll be doing this solo with the exception of lifting it on and off my truck.

I put mine all together then hoist it up and back the truck up. 1 man job if you can hoist it. Being that it’s all black. It’s gonna really heat up on the inside. I got the gray flexseal and I put a couple of coats on the very top that seems to help a lot. I also put the max fan plus on top of it so if it’s something you’re considering, I would probably do that before You put it on your truck. Overall, I’m very very happy especially at the price point. I went with the stainless steel so I can mount things on the inside with magnets and until they come out with the aluminum magnet, I think stainless steel is the way to go and believe it or not. My gas mileage went up Half a mile a gallon

When I got mine. I put it all together because I was too excited. I put everything together carefully following the instructions. Because I put the sealant (suggestion is not to use this but just use the other sealant that turns into rubber to seal the gaps) to hold it together but it made hard to line up the holes. I ended up not being able to put one screw in. The camper was sturdy enough so I did not care if one screw is not installed.

Installation: After I got the camper together and here’s what I did:

    1. I installed the 3M double bulb seal that the seller included in the package.

    2. I let the 3M double bulb seal to cure for about a day or two.
    3. I removed the tailgate
    4. I leaned the camper on the back end of the truck and made sure that the guides of the camper are inside section of the truck bed.
    5. I lifted the camper on the bottom back end while it is leaning on the back of the truck.
    6. After the camper even out on the top of the bed, I slid the camper from the back end of the end towards the front end until the camper stopped sliding because the front end guide already hit the front portion of the truck bed.
    7. I visually checked to make sure that the camper is properly aligned.
    8. I used the long screw and the part that goes to the built-in side guides of the truck to secure the camper.
I did everything myself but be careful not to hurt yourself or damage your truck if you plan to install the camper yourself. I am not a big guy but I was able to complete the install on my own. If you can get someone to help you then get that someone to help.

Can you post a picture or two of the bed clamp installed?

Those instructions are garbage. I used the black brackets along with the long Allen head screws to secure it to the track. I could only do 4 on each side as I was missing hardware. I might stop by the hardware store tomorrow and buy some better bolts for that.

I am not sure if all are issuing the same hardware for these types of camper shells. I was able to install 6 or 3 on each side. Here are the example.

Mine did not come with install instructions. I had to figure out which one to use :( to clamp the camper.
