Alibaba rooftop tents

Does anyone have any experience with ordering through alibaba? Im looking at some of their rooftop tents and im curious if anyone has purchased one on here. Im specifically looking at the ones similar to the iKamper made by outnests.

If you have gone through them how was the shipping with your order. Also post pics of the tent if you have them and maybe what you like/dont like.

 

From what Ive heard it is a nightmare to go through "them" and usually have to order a lot of them to be worth it for shipping costs.

 

from what i was gathering so far by the website its looking like 900 for the tent and 450 to ship. But also reading other sources on the internet is that it would come into the closest port and id have to handle picking it up from there. Which i dont mind doing if the tent is not junk.

 

It would not surprise me at all if the Alibaba tent is identical to many of the name brand tents.

 

Alibaba is meant for North American distributors buying in quantity. For individuals, use AliExpress.

 

aliexpress doesnt seem to carry the one id want. I was under the impression i was able to buy just one since there is the option for the single sample.

I do like the ikamper though. I'm going to look into that line!

 

those are some nice deals, I already have a style of tent-like that, I'm looking for a hard shell that wouldn't be as bulky on the roof. who knows maybe by the time the quarantine is over ill have enough to buy the ikamper for 3k lol

I havent gotten that far into the process yet. Right now ive been looking for reviews on the tent and saving up money to buy one if i feel like its the best choice for me. Im not really sure what the full shipping process is yet.

 

You can get a slightly used named brand for much less than that on here or Craigslist, Offerup, etc.

 

Pretty sure there is a minimum you have to buy to secure advertised price. Do you possibly need 10 to 75 units?

 

I have a feeling you will be incredibly displeased with anything you get from that site. There's a major tent manufacturer that gets his supplies from China (as most of them do). Well, he didn't do an inspection of the tent prior to having them shipped. They ended up selling them all for 40-50% off because the quality was such crap. No refunds either. Look for a good used one.

 

Now more than ever is a great time to support local businesses or American retailers. Vote with your wallet.
