I know that getting an alignment after doing any front suspension work should always happen but i have a quick question regarding that.
I just had bilsteins set at 1.75 installed and before that the truck was pulling to the left a little bit after the install it runs straight as an arrow.

Does the alignment need to be done still or give it some time to settle in? How much time?

    Thanks for your help

What coils did you use? If stock coils that already have some miles on 'em, I wouldn't expect it to settle a lot. Many of the newer, better brand coils are now expected to settle less than older versions. I wouldn't wait long. You can screw up a tire pretty quick if there's much of a misalignment.

I did use stock coils. Wouldn't it be pretty noticeable if it were out of alignment? I am due for service this week so i will probably just have the dealership go ahead and do an alignment. Better safe than sorry i suppose.

    Thanks for the advice

You may consider going to Firestone and purchasing a Lifetime Alignment. For around $200 they will set alignment every 6 months, or whenever needed, for as long as you own it. If you plan on doing much off-roading, or making addition changes to the suspension in the future, it may be worth it to you.

    Depends.

Caster is what normally impacts steering center more than anything. While the lift may have 'fixed' that, it may have been at the expense of some camber which being out of spec can create some unusual wear.

Toe is the other setting to 'eat' tires, either on the inner or outer edges. You generally don't feel that in 'tracking', but in a sports car the well initiated can feel it in turn in response.

So yes, you should go ahead with an alignment. Just to be sure all is well.

guaranteed toe caster and camber are all sorts of messed up.... get an alignment if you like your tires.

Thanks to everyone for the lesson in alignment. Sounds like I will be heading to the shop soon to get it straightened out.

Then on the other hand the quicker I "wear" these tires out the sooner i can get the ones that I really want. Thats a logical issue that the wife cant argue with.
