    Alignment spec printout?

What is the front lower cam set at? Rears should be out, fronts should be in.

The lower control arm gets moved forward and in as far as possible and the upper balljoint gets moved rearward and in to lower caster and zero camber. I'm guessing they didn't move the front cam IN if you're still rubbing and I'd also guess your caster is a bit low? The alignment sheet will help though.

It was an old shop and I'm betting they did the numbers by hand. I'll call em up tomorrow and get my specs and post them. Like I said, it's still rubbing but not as bad.

Mine's at "G" on the driver side only, with the lower cams set to max caster/min camber.

Just got off the phone with the fella who did my alignment work yesterday. I'll be the first to admit, I don't know jack shit about the math behind an alignment, but these numbers seemed a bit staggering to me:

    Driver Passenger
    Camber: .25+ .5 +
    Caster: 6.0+ 5.5+

My truck drives fine. Other than me having to help it back to center a bit, it is smooth and doesn't seem to be pulling in any direction.

Correct me if I'm wrong but having the balls on the UCA set to "G" would back it out -2? It's not steering heavy at all.

Maybe I'm looking at this bassackwards but it looks like it's set to "A" which is +2. That would explain why you have astronomical caster. Moving the upper balljoint towards the rear of the vehicle ADDS caster.

Well this is just god damn crazy. I feel like my tires are rubbing just as much as before and may be more back on the cab mount, and the f'in thing is chopped.

So would moving the LCA to give as much caster as possible, and then keeping the upper ball joint on "D" essentially move my tire further forward in the wheel well? I asked him to provide as much caster as possible, thinking he would move the LCA forward as much as possible. Is the caster added at the top negating the forward movement of the LCA? Clearly I'm like a five year old on this topic.

I think you screwed up by telling them "as much caster as possible" because with the SPC arms you have a lot of available caster as you can see haha.

If they just set the upper balljoint at the neutral setting or even a little bit more forward you should be good.

Yeah, this may be an example of "careful what you ask for."

I think you're right. Now I know how wise it is to know specifics so I don't have to go to the alignment shop more than two times...

So tomorrow in going back to see my guy. I'm going to ask him to push the caster on the lower control arm as far forward as possible (pushing the forward bushing in and the rearward bushing out). Then set the the upper ballpoint to either the "D" or "E" position, to hopefully give me around 2-3 degrees and then have him adjust the camber with the UCA as well.

Any other info I'm missing to try and prevent the runs? I'll update tomorrow afterwards. I'm crossing my fingers for a rub-free ride, descents numbers, and the last time (for a while) that I have to go visit the good ol' alignment specialists.

I called the tech line at Specialty Products Company and they said to max the caster on the LCA and then make adjustments on the UCA to get within spec.

Yeah Ding, that's what I'm more interested in as well. God knows I've cut the absolute hell out of my fenders, so if this doesn't work, I'm probably going to sell my tires and go back down to a 265

Alright fella's. Just wanted to give an update and to thank OP and everyone else who have offered help on my rubbing issues.

Went to my alignment guy again yesterday. He let me stay in the shop with him and try out a few different adjustments. So I ended up setting the upper contral arm to the "C" position or the +3 setting. My caster seems a bit high, but I couldn't go any further forward because my tires were BARELY and I mean barely, rubbing the front of the fender liner, BUT NO MORE IN THE BACK :broccoli:

My caster numbers are still a little high, but it drives pretty smoothly down the road, and I don't think my camber is too far off to cause any abnormal tire wear.

    Driver Passenger
    Camber .10 .11
    Caster 4.69 5.33
    Toe .04 .07

Just did the work yesterday, but overall I'm pretty happy with the results. Just goes to show you that indeed all of our damn trucks are different! Thanks again gentlemen for your advice!
