So I just paid $183 for an alignment at 4Wheel Parts in Reno NV. Typically I'd pay around $70 but I have the LR-UCA's and nobody but $Wheel Parts will even touch them. Is this typical? I've never had my truck aligned before so I haven't got a clue as to cost.

Dunno yet. I just made the appointment and had to pre-pay. Its not going to be aligned till May 04. Our local tire shop here in Tahoe won't do it due to "liability concerns"

Ive had a real difficult time getting anyone to mess with the LR UCAs top adjustment. If they were able to set them up right, I would say OK. should be nothing but little tweeks from here on out

I paid $75 to a local 4x4 shop with UCA's. They seemed to know what was up.

Great point. I've read all about the initial adjustments and I set the lower camber lobe at a neutral position per the UCA website so I'm hoping the next time I can just tell them to adjust the lower.

Ya I've noticed TW has proper shops for you southern boys. We seem to make all the shit here in CA but refuse to work on it. I live at the foot of the Rubicon trail and you'd think at least one shop would have a clue.

Price sounds right for what the shops charge around me with adjusting the LR UCA's. I bought the lifetime alignment from firestone pre-lift and cant get them to adjust the UCA's without paying for a custom alignment which runs around $180.

I just made an appointment to get mine done tomorrow. I did put on JBA UCAs which are not adjustable so that may keep my cost down compared to the LR UCAs.

I'll report back tomorrow, but if I remember this same shop charged me about $100 after I did the 5100s at 1.75 about a year ago.

They guy that builds a diy alignment solution and sells it to "hazard fraught" is going to be a billionaire.

I paid $68, for a front alignment, with LR's....way out of alignment too, cause I replaced my inner/outer tie rods.

Sucks, what ya'll out there in California have to go through, price-wise.

OP this is so interesting that the aftermarket UCAs raised the price of an alignment by more than double where you live. Pretty much every place I called for a quote had no problem that I'm running LR UCA's and actually appreciated that they had the ability to adjust them and really dial in the numbers. They game me the same price as a bone stock vehicle ($70).

I have a lifetime alignment from Firestone. My bros there do (did, truck leaves my ownership today) my Ford with a lift and new UCAs without any additional charge. They promise to do the same on the Taco.

The lifetime cost me $130 I think

Spent 90 on an alignment at a PROPER alignment shop. guy has been in business for like 30 years doing JUST alignments and front end rebuilds. he knew his shit.

For anyone with SPC UCA's what i recommend is to put the ball joint at the center position (+2* caster) and slide the bitch ALL the way to the outer edge of the arm. Then take it to get it aligned. Tell the tech not to mess with the UCA adjustment and give him 2.5-3* of caster and -0.2* to -0.4* of camber. If they come back and cant get that, move the balls inward yourself by 3/8ths of an inch.
