I just completed a large front suspension rebuild. I replaced LBJ's, UBJ's, UCA Bushings, LCA Bushings, OTR's, and the steering rack. All Bushings and Joints were OEM. I also put in a rebuilt Icon C/O instead of the OEM struts, and set the ride height approx. 1" over stock ride height. This is on a 3rd Gen 4Runner (I know, I know...). I set the Cam adjusters to center and the OTR's to the same length as the ones I took off. The steering wheel was about 10 degrees off center. It was good enough to get me to Firestone to do an alignment.

I notified the tech there that the suspension was rebuilt and the steering wheel was a bit off. I didn't check the alignment printout (my fault) after the work was complete. However, they did not tell me anything was wrong or that they had trouble aligning it. It felt much better driving back home and the steering wheel was centered, so I had no reason to suspect anything was wrong.

Fast forward a few days and I was draining some fluids under the vehicle and noticed that the cam adjusters looked like they were maxed out. The front adjusters on both sides were turned all the way outboard and the rear adjuster were turned all the way inboard (see photos). This prompted me to check my alignment sheet. Three of the six specs were not met (see attached). I'm not too familiar with the alignment process. Looking at the sheet, it appears to me that the adjusters were used to correct the toe I had. The camber and caster appear mostly unchanged. Hard for me to tell, but it doesn't look like the OTR's were adjusted.

Could someone who knows more tell me what you think? Would 1" of lift in the front on stock components throw it out that bad? Am I being duped by Firestone?

    Thanks for the help!

Go and get your money back and find a competent alignment shop. These guys are idiots.

I don’t know why you are asking about a 4Runner on a Tacoma forum, but your caster numbers look way off. I have about 2” of lift plus aftermarket UCA’s and 33” tires and I have about 4 degrees of caster. Stock on a taco is about 2 degrees, but I was rubbing at that much.
