I installed the 5100's on my truck last week set at 2.5"- no UCA's at this time.

I am gong to get my alignment tomorrow is there anything I should know or ask for so they do not have any issues with my truck?

Edit: alignment spec sheet at bottom post #8 < full size easier to see.

Try to get as much caster as you can with them still keeping camber close to zero

skip to a 4wheel shop, most cookie-cutter shops wont know how to correctly align it. you will get some high speed wander, some can live with it, some without. If your like myself (i drive 60 miles a day highway) then it will make you insane with the constant "corrections"

I tried to hold out on the UCA's, but I gave in. SPC UCA's are Well worth the money.

on a side note, i gave up with "dealing" with the alignment being incorrectly done and invested in a SPC FaxTrax guage - I now do the alignments myself. I'm sure i'll be flamed for doing my own alignments, but the truck drives straight, handles well and isn't eating my tires... plus i can make adjustments on the fly without having to drop another 80.00$. But of course, you will invest a lot of time in learning how to properly align :)

I thought that it was the caster that caused the high-speed wander?

It looks like I have some pretty positive camber right now. My truck drives straight and I have an ever so slight wander at 80MPH but I was hoping the alignment would fix this with out having to get UCA's. I just don't want to have to pay for two alignments. One because they cant get it correct and the 2nd because I have to get uca's.

You nailed it. Less caster will cause the wander

Since you're at Firestone and you're worried about paying twice for alignments, just get their lifetime alignment. It's something like $160, but you'll never pay again. Just an idea . . .

Yeah thanks for the heads up. They actually offered it to me for $150. I should have done it but I only paid $60. The way I though was it would take 3 alignments to get to the $150+ point so I opted not for now. Also when you do the lifetime alignment and you come back they hate to help you they will put paying customers in front of you. I have seen them tell customers that they did the alignment when they did nothing just because the customer had the lifetime alignment. True story. Once they get your $$$ they don't give a $hit about you.

I got their lifetime alignment, 3 alignments and literally 12 hours of truck being on their rack they refunded my money in full.

i was even told "we have the best guy around doing alignments for 25 years" yeah, well he doesn't know how to adjust caster to save his life.
